Merle's Door - anyone read it?

I read it a couple months ago.  I LOVED it.  Occasionally I will pick up a book that really grabs me and I have a hard time putting it down.  This was one of those books.  Lent it to my Mom....same thing.

 I really enjoyed his writing style.  Not pretentious.  He writes as if he is speaking to you.  A great mix of memoir, biology, animal behavior, history.

I feel bad for Baily though    Compared to Merle, his life is downright dull and unfullfilling !

 I haven't read that one. But I just finished Marley and Me. It's been awhile since a book made me cry but I had to stop reading near the end cuz I was in tears.

LOL yea I think Bugsy would thrive with a life like Merle's - very similar personality

If Marley and Me makes you cry (it did me) this one will send into uncontrollable sobs - but for all the right reasons.  If you love a dog this is a fabulous book

I'm right around the part where Merle has gone through the trash...lol...and can say I truely relate- when I first brought Apollo home he did that during the middle of the night.

I have to say, I loved the part where they were going through the caves and Merle was howling and hearing the echo, too funny.

Great! Now I've got to add another book to my ever growing list of books to read. Lol. Must make a trip to the book store this month. Thanks guys.

 I agree !  This is a book that will make you sob........I was reading the second half while flying home from FL and had to stop.  I reached a sad part and just couldn't do it without tears....

Such an amazing life Merle and his human buddy Ted had.  Read the book, you won't be sorry!

There's a used bookstore near my house so I'm gonna talk to them later.  Hopefully they can find a copy for me.
