    eat this not that

This is so very interesting!! Not that i normally read men's health, lol...i was following links and this is where i ended up.

    enjoy!

I think i linked you to cereals, but you can click through restaurants, etc. I was shocked to see some things (like a quarter pounder @ mc d's being better than the chicken club!)

That's pretty interesting.  I was surprised to see that the wraps can be much worse than the sandwiches.  For some reason I tend to think of them as healthier.  On another but related note, the "governator" just banned trans fats in CA restaurants.  Would that he spent as much time trying to get the lawmakers to balance the state budget, but that's a whole 'nuther thread. Embarrassed

Wow! I didn't know that! I'm so not a news-watcher anymore.. That's cool though, and pretty exciting. Trans fats are pure evil. Stick out tongue

I believe in decision making without the government telling me every step of the way what to do.......

Chelsea, how would you feel if all of a sudden there was a law that all dog owners had to live in their own dwelling......just a example, but this is how silly it is for these darn lawmakers to take it to the steps they are.......once you invite them in your daily life you will never get rid of them.....

Marxism has no business in my life.........and that is where we are heading if we don't stay on top of it.....

    • Gold Top Dog

Hmm Banning a dangerous man-made fat from our food supply is akin to Marxism?? It's not like they're banning...beef or something, they're banning something we MAKE that makes us unhealthy. How is that inviting the government into our daily lives?

    • Gold Top Dog

Do you even have any idea how many foods and drinks are unhealthy for any person.......you mention beef.....let's see, you know how many people suffer from high cholesterol due to eating animal based fats......heart attack waiting to happen......I believe vegetarian is the way to go....should any politician decide that all should eat like I do? NO!!! Freedom of choice........man made anything.....yikes, there is a ton of it.....I am sure you consume something that is man made that can kill if consumed too much.......

I'm sure they are Smile but not as evil as  trying to cut the salaries of 200,000 state workers down to the federal min. wage (which is $2.00 lower than the CA min. wage) because the idiots in charge can't get the budget balanced. Fortunately, the state controller has more sense and said he refused to cut shorter checks .... workers will be paid their full amount even if it means going to court. Sorry to take this thread OT, but that guy is just driving .... me .... nuts.

Me too! What a ridiculous threat to make to people who have nothing to do with the budget stalemate. This is going to go on for months, so it'll be interesting to see what he dreams up next.

As much as I'm for healthier food, I agree that he shouldn't be making these kinds of sweeping bans, especially as he's cruising around smoking a cigar Hmm

They interviewed some poor state worker on the news last night.  He was saying that every month he puts out $2,100 just on mortgage, gas and groceries.  That's not even counting things like utilities, phone, car payments, insurance etc.  This great new plan would bring his total monthly salary down to $1,048. No wonder the poor guy is in a panic.
