Oh Dagnab this destructive chewing WEEEEENNNNNNIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!

Yes it's totally my fault, I know this dog, I know his fetish but I am going to pull his teeth and feed him baby food for the rest of his life!!!!!  In the past 5 days he's destroyed 3 pairs of shoes, 2 harnesses, a leash, a cloth shopping bag and constantly fishes banana peels out of the trash to devour!!!  Yes, it's my fault.  God forbid I should go tinkle without crating him!  Heaven forbid I should allow him to leave the room for one red second and believe foolishly that silence means he's just sleeping somewhere!  Nooooooo silence means those huge incisors are silently scissoring their way through leather, nylon web or cotton!   Grrrrrrrr!  And he's surrounded by loads of appropriate chewing toys!  It's like having a flipping 2 year old all over again!  Oh wait!  He IS two years old!!!  Embarrassed

Can someone link me to companies that will replace harnesses and leashes even if your dog chews them up, because it's got to be more cost effective than constantly buying Walmart specials!  Someone at the dog park mentioned a product name this morning but now I can't remember it.  Darn dog scissored through a brand new harness in the time it took me to drive to the park (about 8 minutes!).  And he has a chew rope in the crate in the car!  Guess it didn't taste as good as brand spanking new nylon web!  Super Angry

I saw some leash thing on Martha a while ago that was made of rubber, looked like Kong rubber....The rubber is supposed to absorb shock for you and the dog, but might help with chewing too....

My advice?  Leash him to you and go back to square one.

Shoot, most of the time I don't even have to leash him, he's a velcro dog!  I haven't peed alone in over a year!  Big Smile  One or both of them always feel compelled to follow me and supervise, maybe they're protecting me in case I'm attacked!  LOL!  He was doing really well for a couple months and then this spate of incidents happens when I let my guard down.  I just remembered the local store the woman said sold the leashes and collars, I'm going to check them out and Lupine as well.

    Stinker!  Super Angry

They have finally decided that you know what you are doing, so supervision is no longer necessary.  Stick out tongue

Stinker is right!  Can't keep your eyes off'em for a second.

Sensation Harness also does repairs/replacements for a small fee. Rosco broke a buckle on his, and it came back in about two weeks with a new buckle and strap for $5.

We have something like this by our front door where we hide our most used leashes, collars and harness's. Its pretty easy to remember to hang em up when we come in from a walk or puting and then I always know where to find them. The only downside is that Rory bumps her leash with her nose when she wants to walk and it swings back and forth menacingly, LOL!

Oooh, that's pretty.  But a no go here.  Indie thinks dangling things are put there for him like a carrot on a stick.  Big Smile   I *usually* put all the harnesses and leashes in a locking rubbermaid container on top of Woobie's kennel.  I've just been lax lately and paid the price.  Same for the shoes I didn't put away!  He's not usually a trash surfer, he just finds banana peels irresistible for some reason!  Confused
