How do your dogs initiate play?

Usually they both look at each other and freeze and then one, usually Nikki, will charge at the other one and try to bowl him over and then they chase each other all over the yard and wrestle in the grass.  My dogs play a little strangely...well I guess really Nikki does.  Cairo just goes along with it as best he can, though she's a bit rough sometimes and makes him yelp.

My dogs dop the freeze thing also, its pretty funny to watch to see which one is gonna charge first, LOL! Its usually Rory who initiates it.

The seldom times that Primo initiates it he will stick his nose under her tummy and lift her up to get her going or he just barks.....which is very rare.

Now that I am living at home, Buddy plays with my parents' dog all the time.  He is usually the one initiating the play.  He will jump at her and then freeze and stare at her.  He'll stand right next to her, head to tail, tail to head, and stick his nose in her ear.  Sometimes he just pokes the ear and freezes.  Other time he licks her ear and then the chase is on.  lol  My parents' dog has not been around other dogs, but Buddy.  She is a bit of an old lady and stuck in her ways.  So, early on Buddy learned that if he wanted to play with her it was on her terms.  That meant that only she could chase him and God forgive him if he forgot it!  Now, she is more relaxed around him, more lenient of his advances and his type of play.  She still gets a bit spooked if he touches her.  She, however, is the barker.  She will bark and bark and bark while they are playing.  She chases him and barks.  He is running around with a ball in his mouth, she is running right with him barking in his face!  Oh, what a racket!  lol
