Okay... so people on here have complained about people asking what breed of dog it is, and people complain about other people guessing what breed of dog it is, so what's the right answer here? Shut up and say "nice puppy" and move on?
(Just razzin' you guys... as a very un-breed-savvy person I sometimes get pretty nervous reading these things. I'm terrified to inquire about dogs anymore for fear of offending someone by not instantaneously being able to ID their PWD or bearded collie or whatever... I mean, of course YOU guys know what breed your dogs are, but not everyone has been exposed to that breed before! Don't take offense just because people are ignorant...!)
Anyway... I don't understand why people think it's okay to insult other people's dogs, any more than it would be okay to insult someone's child, or their clothes, or their hairstyle... people who would never dream of making fun of, say, my car, will make fun of Rascal and his big ears. Um, yes, I know my dog's ears are rather large, thanks for pointing that out? It totally blows my mind.
And then there are the (surprisingly large number of) people who have to BARK at my dog. Thus far this has been a phenomenon reserved exclusively for middle aged men - they see the dog, and they must bark at him, and then think it's just hilarious when he freaks out and barks back. Yeah... thanks for setting my training back another couple of weeks, jerkwad.
Jennie, I hope the stupid people don't make the grooming business any more difficult for you :) And best of luck with it. Maybe you need a new papillon puppy to draw some oooohs and ahhhhhhs.... nudge, nudge... :)
