    Dog Years by Mark Doty

Anyone read this?  I am reading it now and would love to discuss it with someone.

It isn't in my opinion the typical memoirs of my dog book - it is not Marley and Me.  Written a little higher brow, you know on the artsy side.

I'm afraid to pick it up tonight as it was heart wrenching last night

LOL I am such a wimp

so if you've read it and want to discuss it bring it on!

    hmm.... nope.

slightly off topic...but! I was in borders the other night (I had to use the restroom, and I'm particular about where I 'go';) and I saw the Marley and Me book - and it looked interesting. Is it good? Worth buying? I'm looking for something to read while I'm dog sitting, since my computer can't find a wireless signal over there.....

I saw the Marley and Me book

It is a really fun read, very easy and straight forward.  You will certainly laugh along with Marley Stick out tongue

Some people got a bit caught up in how they should've done things differently so if you think that would be a distraction you might not enjoy it as much

ha ha of course I wound up crying in that one too Embarrassed

check amazon for a used copy you can probably get it super cheap

hmm.....sounds interesting, I'll have to look around for it! thanks.

let me know how this new book is too....animal books always get me - esp. rescue books (and I'm SO not a reading person!)

I love to read but mostly non-fiction.  I do lots of work related reading which lately is boring me to tears.

I have been collecting and reading lots of dog books, training, intelligence, behavioral and the memoir types.  All good in their own way for me anyway.

You might even be able to get Marley and me at your library - ours is awesome!

I can't go to the library....I have a large-ish outstanding fee from a report I had to do back in high school - returned a ton of books late.... I should really suck it up and pay up.... butttt......I need more money than I have now for that. Amazon may be a better choice!

try half.com as well. It's pretty much the only place I buy books anymore. I read really quickly, so unless it's really special, paying over $20.00 for a book just isn't likely to happen
