The bad luck just keeps coming. They "fixed" my car yesterday for a grand total of $255. I said "You're sure that this was the problem?" "Positive". So I drive home, park the car and mill around the house. Dinner time comes and I don't feel like cooking so I throw the dogs in the car (without leashes), leave my cell phone at home and such and drive a few blocks to pick up take out. When I go to start the car again it's dead. Leaving me stranded - Again. This time with no cell phone and 3 dogs and no leashes. Of course, without a cell phone I don't know anyone's numbers. I borrow their phone and call AAA for a tow. Tow truck comes but AAA didn't tell them that I had all wheel drive. So now they have to call for a flat bed truck. Mean while, my dinner is getting cold and I can't even walk home with the dogs because I have no leashes!
I flip through the phone book looking for people I know that actually have a land line - I mean, who has land lines anymore? Thankfully a friend from work was listed. I call and his wife answers. I hate calling married men that I work with at home. I don't want their wives to think that some strange woman is calling for their husband, you know? Anyway, I introduce myself and ask for my friend. He's not home of course but the wife is very friendly and asks if she can help. She offers to come pick me up and drop me off at home. How nice is that? I felt bad because her car was sparkling clean - not a spec of dirt or dust anywhere, and here I come with 3 of the hairiest dogs ever.
Anyway, I got the car towed away and she took me home. Her husband drove me to work today. Very nice people. I am going to get them gift certs to the movies as a thank you because I know that they go once a week.
Whew, what a flipping couple of weeks.
Sat a friend is going to come out and fix my plumbing. Hopefully my car will get fixed for good. I'm thinking it's a computer issue.
