The bad luck cloud is raining on my parade!

Warning: Pity party ahead. Proceed with caution.

So, in the past couple of weeks, my computer has died, my plumbing has died (leaving me with no shower) and my car has died - leaving me stranded out of town on Memorial Weekend.

This just has not been my month! Of course my plumbing died right after I got back from my work trip and since it's a holiday weekend, I'm not about to call a plumber, so I do sponge baths and such until I go out of town. Yesterday I spend the night at my sisters only to wake up and try to go out to breakfast but my car won't start. deader than a door nail. Jump starting it didn't work, so I call AAA for a tow truck. I'm thinking it's the battery and the only place open today is Walmart so I have the guy tow it there. He says "I don't feel good about this, let's talk to them first before I drop your car off". Sure enough Walmart won't touch my car because it's too complicated! They won't even test the battery for me to see if it's dead. In the mean time they are all sitting on their rears doing nothing!

So the tow truck driver says, let's drop it off at the dealership and they can get to it in the morning. It's my only option really because of the holiday. Meanwhile I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow (1.5 hrs away) and go up to the U.P. on Thurs. UGH.

Oh and when we get back to my sisters from dropping the car off - Dakota had clawed her way through one of their screens to get to their sunroom. Talk about bleeding a rock dry. $$$ flying out faster than I can make it.

Oh and I still have to pay the $400 for the tree that I had chopped down 2 weeks ago.

pity party over. Now I'll start the daily thread with happier thoughts.

Jewliee, NO one thinks you are having a pity party.  Several of us totally understand that your plate is beyond full and it is really hard to keep a grin on your face and remember all of  this too will pass. I never play the who has it worst game 'cause I am scared to death I might win !!

In 10 years all of this will be such a faded memory that you  will smile or forget it totally. We aqre driving into MIssissippi over a swamp and bayou area that I love. It mimics a tamed area but it is not , in any way tamed, We are driving over to visit with friends who run one of the very few canine crematoriums here in this part of the South.  I told Bob I refused to wait to go have a meal and swap stories with them until we were forced to go. They are kind and gentle, She is beyond elegant and he is onew of theos fellows you just know had to be beyong striking as a young man. They never complain about the many, many health issues they have rather they chat and swap stories that keep you facsinated for hours. I treasure every visit and am glad Bob saw things my wasy, they arranged to be around and we will sit and have a simple dinner, tell stories, laugh about dogs and friends. I could have stayed in bed to day so easily, I am rather manic low and it would have beena good day for it. Insterad we will show friends we cherish them and not just because they have an amazingly difficult job.  But because they inspire us to take things one day a time and treasure each one. That is the type of Friend I would hate to loose.

Oh gosh -- not a good way to have a 'memorable' weekend!!  But gosh I'm glad that driver was at least looking out for you!  That could have been dire!
