I just e-mailed her pretending to be an interested buyer she has not got back to my yet. Asked her how old the pups are now and if I can collect straight away.

    Lets see what she says.......[sm=uhoh.gif]

Be careful--you may end up with more Chows!

This person sounds like a complete jerk.

She did get back to me said the pups are now 6weeks and I can come get them straight away, got her address and reported her to RSPCA.

Dont know if they can do anything as the pups may not be abused but if they leave there mum at that age surley they would not survive?

Hope my intervention saves their lives or at least educates the breeder, who knows?

They would most likely survive alright.  They may not be properly socialized.  And the mom has some stuff left to teach them.  But my momma dog turned on her pups after 5 weeks.  Well she wasn't mean to them she just wanted nothing to do with them.  They learn most from thier litter mates.  I got my big dog at 6 weeks and his brother went home with my friend a week before that.  She had other dogs to teach him the ropes though.  My girls came home at 9 weeks.

Yes, by 6 weeks the pups are likely weened and could survive, but not thrive without the company of their littermates.  In many places it is illegal to sell or transfer ownership of a pup under the age of 8 weeks.  You might want to check on the laws in your area.

Wow! This seems to be quite a regular topic. I just finished reading another post that basically said the same thing. People have all gone mad!

Yeah its the same over here illegal to sell/recieve pups under 8 weeks old with the exception of certain circumstances like Candace pointed out, but still happens, im gonna call the RSPC later on today to check out what happened. Its most likley that they will just talk to her and expalin why the pups need to be around the mum and littermates.
