aw heck - lawns, weeds and Round-up

I just got so fed up of the weeds in my lawn (back yard) (DH keeps saying he has something to take care of it blah blah blah) so I went out and sprayed some home-mixed Roundup on them. Then learned that kills grass too.

The areas I sprayed have little if any grass but still - OOPS! It darn well better kill the weeds Super Angry

I'm not too fussy about grass and we have way too much lawn to have a manicured lawn but the two year drought has seriously destroyed the back lawn. Some areas have nary a blade of grass - just some weird weed that looks itchy scratchy. I can deal with the weeds interspersed with grass but entirely weeds has me peeved.

Anyway I should be down to bare dirt shortly Indifferent Prime mole territory ay?

I have to tell you my experience with roundup. Every thing comes back with a vengence. Seriously I dont know if it was just the type of grass and weeds I had or that's just what happens with roundup. But it all comes back and it comes back good.

We have Bull Thistles in our yard. Boy they are nasty really nasty. They have stickers from the time they pop out of the ground, as they get bigger, and even if you pull them out and they die. All I can say is they are the worst of the worst. I have been told to get a syringe and inject roundup right in the middle of the weed and they will die. I may try this. Molly eats everything and I would hate so have her bite off a mouth full of thistles.
