THIS IS JUST A TEST-pic heavy (Chewbecca)

So, I have been wanting to get a new camera.  We just a got a new P&S last year, but I wanted an SLR.  My in-laws have a Nikon D40x so they brought it over and let me borrow it.  These are some of the pics I got from it.  This was my first time ever using it.  We ended up ordering the Nikon D60x because it was a bit cheaper in price and easier to find.

Yeah, I had to burst her bubble and inform her that on THAT part of the fence, there was no chance of there being any dogs being on the other side. She's a ding-a-ling sometimes.

No, dork, the neighbor's dogs are NOT outside.

And before anyone might ask, yes, she is dragging a leash in our fenced in yard.  We're training...or more like attempting to MODIFY a behavior.  See, Miss Ella likes to nose the fence real hard when the neighbor's dogs are on the other side.  She glues herself to the fence and/or runs up and down the side of it barking and growling at the neighbor's dogs.  I find this to be unacceptable behavior, so we're trying to change it.  I have the leash there for easy access if she decides she wants to start running up and down the fence line or glue her face to the fence.  I can give the leash a slight tug, tell her "IGNORE" (yes, that is the command word for when she sees other dogs) and praise the crap out of her when she ignores the other dogs.  It's getting better already.

Great pictures. DSLRs are the best. Black dogs really ARE hard to photograph. I swear I had like three decent pictures of Cherokee before I got my digital SLR...and now I have hundreds.

OT question.. what kind of harness is that, and where'd you get it?

    • Gold Top Dog

Your dog has THE cutest ears, lol!

That is a cdpits harness.  http://www.itsmysite.com/cdpits/

A tad costly, but worth EVERY CENT.  It's custom made so it fits her perfectly.  She CANNOT back out of it, and the buckles will NOT pop open.  Probably the best piece of equipment I have EVER bought for her.  The middle top of the harness provides a nifty (and oh so useful) handle that allows me to snag her up if I need to.  Cindy put two D-rings on it for me because she knows Ella is so dog aggressive, and she knows I'm an equipment freak.  I don't ever use both D-Rings at the same time, though.  But it's nice because I use one of the D-Rings to hook her tags to (this way they aren't connected to a collar where she might have gotten loose because she backed out of the collar).

I walk her via collar AND this harness and feel the most secure I've ever felt walking her.
