    Mindless Chatter - thurs

Nice day out today. I stayed home this morning because I was having a tree chopped down and wanted to make sure they did it to my satisfaction. They did. I was impressed. They even left me the fire wood I asked for (and chopped it up for me too). I was out sweeping the wood dust off my porch and they said "you don't need to do that, we'll clean it all up for you". Nice! They did a great job cleaning up. I'm sad that the tree had to come down though :( It was such a great old tree. The Ash bore got to it though and sucked the life out of it :( I'll have to get my 2 other ash trees taken down sometime before winter too.

While they were taking the tree down I decided to plant the rose bush I purchased the other day. So there I was digging a hole with a shovel and noticed Neiko and Lily watching me intently. *light bulb moment*. I put the shovel aside and said "Go dig!!! dig dig dig!" and they both jumped in the hole and started digging lol. I have gardening helpers! How they understood what I was trying to get them to do was beyond me, but they did a great job digging the 1 foot by 1 foot hole :)

I have a lot of work to do today but only a couple hours left. Which will no doubt be spent answering emails and phone calls.....Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive.

Tonight I have to get my house cleaned - especially the guest room. My sister is going to come stay with me starting Sunday through Thurs. I have to go to IL for work and she is going to take care of the animals. :)

haha what awesome helpers!!  Now, if only they could figure out the vaccuum and perhaps washing dishes! hehe!  Oh how I would love if my dogs could vaccuum!

I am ANXIOUS!!!!!!!!  BF and I found an amazing house last night, and we are going in 1 hour to a mortgage consultant eep!

Oh man I wouldn't want digging help from my dog. I hope they don't dig your rose bush back up! We do a lot to train our dogs not to dig, but poop in the holes they dig seems to work the best.

Tomorrow is round two on the retreat I got to miss because of jury duty. This is so freaking lame and time consuming I am so not interested. STUPID! We have just about a meeting a day on it, and they wonder WHY we can not get our work done. GEESH!!

My trainer at the barn was telling me last night she has to put one of our ponies down. I think she will do it after this last week of the show (after Memorial weekend) but it is so sad. Molly has taught so many of the kids in our barn to ride, and is so adorable. She is in a bad way and it is the humane thing to do, but no less sad. She loves bananas I plan to buy some to give her. I will really miss her "so ugly it is cute face". Poor Jan I don't want to be in her shoes. The first little girl who owned Molly (now in Med School) graduated to my old horse Sayler. It is her family I bought him from. Sad they both go to the bridge in the same year. At least they will be together.

I totally understand that you are anxious about the house.

In about 10 minutes DH and I are heading out to an appointment at an adoption clinic - babies not dogs.

Talk about anxious!!!   Wish us luck....

Dakota's a yard digger but the aussies aren't. Plus I don't really leave them outside to get bored enough to dig so I'm not too worried about it. Neiko (especially) just likes helping me around the yard and house so I know the he associated it with work. Lily I think just did it because it was fun haha.

Sorry to hear about the pony :(

At least Sayler will be happy to see his buddy at the Bridge :(

It's just a sad, sad, day - my best friend's mom tried to kill herself, Monday morning. My bestie went over to check on her, and found her unresponsive. Since Monday they've had her mom sedated, but now that she's up she keeps telling my bestie that she did the wrong thing, she should have left her to die, she's just going to do it 'right' once she gets out... I feel so bad for my friend. I can't get back to Orlando to see her but we've been calling/texting like mad. I mean, what can you say to comfort someone when something like this happens? I feel so, so, so bad for her. If everyone could think a little thought for her family I'd appreciate it.

Babies!! We need some GOOD NEWS around this place, good luck!

I think I'm going to find some Will piccies to look at... that baby is too cute!

OMG that's horrible (about your friend's mom). *hugs*

I have some good news....my raise finally went through and it was more than twice what I was guessing.  I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted.  I've been so stressed about money with gas and food prices so high, plus I know my student loan payments will be increasing soon b/c I'm on a graduated plan.  Also, our landlords said they would not raise our rent if we do lawn care (for both sides).  They haven't mowed our lawn since October.  DH e-mailed them to ask if he could do it, b/c the gnats and bugs are getting really bad.  They said if we do it once every 2 weeks they will keep rent the same price.  I said that's fine w/ me b/c I like to have more control anyway.  The landlords are really nice, but you never know when they will show up and I'll have to move all my dog stuff and make sure every last turd is removed from the ground.  DH used to work landscaping and we already know where the landlords stash the riding mower and their supplies.  I'm also telling them not to install the air conditioner this year b/c there's no WAY I can afford it.  They install it in the dining room, which we never use.  The air never makes it into the bedroom, so what's the point?  Sure it can get in the 90s during the day, but I work all day.

Good Luck at the Adoption clinic!  I can only imagine the nerves to accompany that!

I actually found the best way to get my dogs to NOT dig, was to make them dig when I wanted them to.  I fully intend to use them to excavate where I'm going to lay my patio.  Might as well, they'll be there anyway.

Van Morrison - hope there's good news from the adoption clinic!

Meg- that's terrible about your best friend's situation w/her mom.  What a horrible burden for her - there's no way she could have NOT done anything... and now if her mom tries again.. wow.  That is just so awful.  I hope she gets help, and I hope your friend gets LOTS of support in helping her mom.  Sending vibes for good resources and support to help them both.

I have a cold and feel crappy.  The old man who hit my car brought me cash today, and I'd wanted to go get him a card for the loss of his wife, but I was too sick yesterday, and had no time in the morning.

BF is outside gunning his motorcycle, riding around the neighborhood, so Jada has got the "whineys" - she gets all upset when he leaves but is still close by

I went up to the roof and got the bag of poop I accidentally tossed up there, and the drill that BF left on the air conditioner - the neighbor told him it was up there.  Yeah, this should suffice for a mindless chattery post...  Confused

    UGHHHHHH.

Yesterday at doggie day care one of the staff's dogs got into a tiff with another dog - it happens. In breaking up the fight someone bit the employee (in the BOOB!) but it happened too fast and she can't remember who it was. The powers-that-be just DECIDED that it was the staff member's dog and now NO ONE can bring their dogs to day care. How this makes sense I don't know. What sucks is that some of our staff have pretty needy dogs - one girl is fostering an Aussie with SA, who she probably won't be able to foster anymore, and another has a 9 month old doxie pup.

OH YEAH. The best part? Manager's dogs are exempt. :/ :/ :/

Today it was 90 degrees in LA. Way to early to be so hot IMO. It was clinic day which I always hate. I guess it's a necessary evil, but the OR is so much more fun. Hope you feel better soon Paige.
