    Vermont chewman

Hi folks,  Hope this is the right place for this question!  Does anybody know if the "Vermont Chewman" company is still in business? I bought my dog's one about 1986 and it is finally about to bite the dust. It was a great toy, surviving several generations of Cattle Dogs, and three generations of Border Collies! Some of my worst toy killers had a go at it over the years, and yet for my last Cattle Dog, Jinx, it was her cuddle toy and pillow. Jinx died in 1999 and then the Border Collie pups inherited it. It has so many memories for me that I put the poor ratty thing on a shelf this morning, and I would love to get another one for my current kids. I've seen some similar toys, but they are nowhere near the quality of the original. Anybody out there know if the company still exists and if they still make those grat toys?  Thanks

I've never heard of it before, but with a simple Google search I found these links:

Not sure if that's what you're looking for. Those don't look like they'd survive Rupert let alone generations of cattle dogs!

If that thing lasted 20 years in your household, then Xerxes must have the jaw strength of a bull.  He rips through those in about 60 seconds or less.  In fact after a minute or two it looks like the toy turned itself inside out.

That's just the problem. All the so-called chewmen I've found are not near the quality of that original toy. This toy has very thick material, no ornamentation, and very tough stitching! Even my monster toy killer was only able to pull some of the "fuzz" out and not actually tear the material. It's been a number of years of gnawing on one leg that has finally lead to a rip, and the pups are starting to pull the stuffing out of the little hole. Not bad for an aging stuffed toy! Oh to find another! It would probably outlive me.[8|][8|]
