Mindless Chatter - TGIF!!!

Last night I joined the German Shepherd Dog Club of American - Working Dog Association and tonight I'm off to Kenya's breeders to start a GSDCA-WDA Schutzhund club!  A whole club, just for German Shepherd people, hehe....

I'm very pleased with Kenya's training.  We're doing a new style of obedience and she has taken to it really well.  Her heeling is great and her attitude is improving.  I taught her "halt", which is a moving stand-stay (ie, we are jogging along, I say "halt!" and I continue jogging without looking at her but she stays put).  We've also been working on the moving down and moving sit.  The moving down in Schutzhund is a lot different than in rally!

Well I have already communicated with Julie there is an increased chance Teddi is elbow dysplastic. Our vet did not like what he was feeling but their new x-ray machine due in on Wed did not come in so we could not take pics. Either next week or the week after we have to go back he does want to x-ray her. Why my little baby! Hasn't she been through enough? He does say it is pretty manageable but still!

Oh Ann I am gutted to say the least.  Is this why she may have been limping?  Oh dear I am going to send you most strong vibes that it is OK - and that she can do her agility.  Goodness I hate hearing this

 I was really hoping that it was just a freak thing with Teddi. Too bad you can't sue that breeder for her medical expenses!

Someone else will have to start this thread on the weekends btw since I won't have a computer at home

Well the mole hunter is back in action.  I watched the whole thing.  He just got very still, nose about an inch from the ground, with a slight head tilt.  Not even a flinch.  Then he pounced on the ground (like it was a toy) and after a frenetic 10 second dig, stuck his head in and pulled the mole out. 

I had to chase Tico around the yard this morning. He got out of his outside cage, I didnt latch it properly. I was going to go get him to put in the house because I was going to town for a few. I walk outside and he's gone!!! And Cheyanne was outside somewhere. I looked for his body for a second because I didnt know if she would think he was prey running around the yard. Well here comes Cheyanne. I asked her if she knew where Tico was. She went to my car and looked under it. There he was munching away on the grass.

Samantha comes out and see's me trying to catch him. And she starts screaming bloody murder. "Why you let Tico run away!! Tico dont run away!!"

Cheyanne herds Tico towards Samanth who casually bends down and picks him up. Here I was chasing him around the yard for 10-15 minutes and my 2 1/2 year old picks him up in 2 seconds.

And that was my day today. Oh yeah I burnt myself in the tanning bed. I look like a lobster.
 

I am supposed to be paying bills which I am so not in the mood to do so I am sitting here procrastinating with watching Oprah.  All about food today.  Yum!  On another note, my twin cousin is coming to town tonight and I am SO EXCITED to see her! 

I am so excited!!!!  BF and I are going probably tomorrow or Sunday to see some houses to buy!  YAAAAY This one in particular we are both in love with!  I am so excited!

I'm not technically supposed to be wearing heels, but I have to wear all these fancy dresses and suits and they just don't look good w/flats.  Plus, being under 5'2", that added height is useful... *sigh*

Gracie turns 5 next Tues... I'm debating what we can do for her.  Her fav thing is to run on the beach, but driving to CA or Mexico to do that.... 5 or 8 hours one way, depending which direction we go.... I wonder if she'd settle for a big lake... :)
