Mindless Chatter Tues

How can it feel like a long week already and it is only Tuesday?

It is pouring rain here this morning and the streets are pretty flooded.  I hate driving in flooding water.  It is so scary.  There was one spot where one of the sewer caps had popped off b/c the sewer was so flooded and there was water spewing up out of a hole in the street.  Everyone, including the police, had to drive into oncoming traffic to get by it.  Ever since last summer when I got into some flooding water that was a lot deeper than I thought and ripped the front end of my car off, it is always unnearving.  At least now I have an SUV that is higher off the ground which makes it a little less scary.  I think I will never have a car again with the Texas downpours we have!

I had that happen to me once. The highway was really bad and traffic was very slow so I got off and took the streets to work. Bad idea! At one point I found myself in water up to my Explorer windows! I got through the water pulled into a fast food place COMPLETELY freaked out and my car died! I was in tears I was so scared. I was about 1 block from work. I managed to get my car started and got to work, I worked for an insurance company at the time and they got me to a service place at lunch to make sure there was no damage to my car. The "humorous" part was the insurance company sent out a message that our office was closed due to flooding yet we were all at work working.  

 I have a meeting today at 1 I think to get Kali's scholarship plan set up.  I started Kale's when he was just a couple months old so I'm behind.  Maybe I can start the one for the new baby at the same time and be ahead of the game? 

Onyx seems to be over her mysterious stomach issues.  Well, maybe not so mysterious.  She chewed up a roll of that spongy shelf liner and I'm sure she must have eaten some of it.  I've been watching her for any signs of distress, but other than some squirty poo and a horrid sour milk smell for a day, she's been fine. The label on the shelf liner says its non toxic, not sure that really meant she should have eaten it, but well....

 These mindless chatter threads have been pretty quiet these last few days. People must be busy!

My little 4 yr old niece broke her arm in 2 places yesterday, apparently. She fell off a table outside. Poor thing. I just can't imagine. I'm glad I wasn't there I would have freaked! Anyway, I am having a little bouquet of flowers delivered to her with a lion because she's so brave to make her feel better.

Cheza weighed in at 31 lbs this morning! She is getting so big, and she is really turning into a great dog!

 sorry about your niece Julie! Busy day just decided to take Bugs for a quick walk around one of our lakes.  So much for a canine good citizen - he is a nightmare in the woods/natural areas - but he loves it.  At one point he was running up and down this brook sniffing like a nutter, clearly excited by something (no idea what) and then since he had no where to go with all that energy he pounced on a butterfly that was just outside the brook.  I guess it dared to move.  I tell you he is one weird dog.

Which reminds me his new game is to get one of his sock toys (long sock with rubber ball in the bottom used for fetch as you can sling it a mile) and drops it on the hose as I reel it in.  Then he attacks the hose and toy and wants me to try to grab the toy and sling it.  Who knew reeling in a hose could a) take so long, and b) be so much fun?  

Aw poor kid!  A kid broke his arm in two places while I was babysitting him.  Ooops!  Well, I put them to bed and was watching TV and he cried that he had to go potty.  I went to help him unzip his PJs and when he was scooting out of his bed, he fell, put his arms out to break the fall.  He cried for a few minutes that his arm hurt, but then he said he was fine and went back to bed.  The mom, being a total hypochondriac, took him for X-rays and sure enough, arm was broke.  He thought he was SO COOL with his lime green cast, and our basketball team went to the national championships and they all signed his cast.  I don't think he wanted to take it off.

Today I feel like I was run over by a buss.  Last night was agility, then I helped someone with computer stuff until midnight.  She gave me a $100 Best Buy gift card.  DH called me and said he thinks he had a seizure last night, but he doesn't know for sure b/c he didn't wet himself.  He says he can't see real well and feels totally exhausted.  In the past, when he has a seizure he has to sleep for the next day.
 

 Onyx just found what looked like a pizza bone in the living room...Where the heck did that come from?  I just did the floors in there this morning!  Disturbing!

LOL, Candace!  They always seem to find stuff. . .you can usually hear things like, "why is she chewing??" when DH and I are watching TV. 

I was glad to find that the dogs had NOT eaten that giant knuckle bone last night - Gracie just hid the chunk for later and was chewing on a few bits for the evening.  Good girl.  She deserves a run in the park tonight.

I'm with whomever said "how can it feel like a long week when it's only Tuesday?!?"  FOR REAL!!  I feel like I've been doing 18hour days at work instead of 8. LOTS going on.
