    Himalayan Dog Chews

Anyone tried these for their dogs or even heard of these? They are supposed to be long lasting, even for the tough chewers and Teddi has one now so we will see. We get the weirdest stuff in at work lol. I was staring at these things for a few days now, they just looked so weird that I didn't want to try them. Well a lady came into work today and said she did research and they are 100% natural, and made from yak and cow milk, cheese, some salt and lime juice. She also said people in Tibet used to eat these same chews while working. They would keep them in their pockets and have something to snack on....interesting.

I just saw these last week in a small pet supply store. I'm going to try them. Let us know how it goes for Teddi. They are supposed to be long lasting which would be nice.

For a strong chewer (which Teddi is ridiculously strong), they aren't long lasting. Teddi chewed through his too the end in about 10 minutes. Maggie even got through hers pretty quick and she's not a strong chewer....they did enjoy them and the chew didn't make them sick or give them diarrhea (which is what I was worried about).

A friend of mine got one yesterday and was not impressed with their long lasting ability either.  She also bought an antler so we'll see if that lasts as long as they say.

I just bought them each a deer antler today, they are lasting pretty long. Teddi chewed on his for about 30-45 mins. and only chewed about 1/4 of it before I took it off him for the day. He would have chewed it all day til it was gone, then wouldve taken Maggie's and chewed hers..

I saw them at Helping Udders, but Emma's pretty sensitive to cow's milk. They're really expensive!

I'm going to have to get her a deer antler, one of these days. Maybe I'll find one in Perry next weekend.

They are expensive for the Himalayan Chews, we sell them at the store for $7.50 for a medium sized one and honestly, I would never pay that. I get mine at wholesale so that's why I decided to try them. I like the deer antlers, just have to watch the dogs with them...they are pricey too but I think they are worth it.

A deer antler (maybe 6" long piece) was $21 here.  Is that outrageous or the going rate?

IMO, that's a little bit pricey.  We have an XL antler at the store that she is selling for $17.99 and its very thick about 6-8 inches long.
