How much would you pay?

Amazon has a few copies starting at $107.00.  I say get it if you want it!!  Life's short and then you die, to paraphrase someone.

If you have the funds, go for it!  You do have options too.  IF it is as coveted as you say, you could re=sell it once you're done with it.  I REALLY like the idea of donating it to Pibble rescue for a fundraiser.  You'll have read it, someone else can have it, you can help a rescue with the funds it brings AND you can get a write-off for it.  It's a win/win situation if you ask me.

"The" Bible of the Border Collie breed is Blue Riband of the Heather by Barbara Carpenter.  It is out of print and copies go for over $150, older versions more than that.  The Border Collie breed is such a young one that there is excellent documentation of its beginnings, and this is one of the finest compilations of that knowledge that existed at the time of its publication, and still is today. 

I did plan to pay for a copy someday, but a dear friend passed away and gave me his library, including numerous old magazines and periodical material, and several old books, including that one.  I'd prefer to still have my friend around, as he was a treasure in his own right, but it was a wonderful and totally unexpected legacy.  It's been exactly four years, in fact, yesterday.
