Kenya's new harness

    Kenya's new harness

Finally the weather is improving so I took my camera around outside tonight.  I got Kenya a Ruffwear harness.  I'm not really sure what to do with it, but she seems to feel very important with it on so she wore it to break it in.  I actually kinda like it for walks b/c we've been at a point where there's no need to restrain her head or give any sort of physical correction (something I tried to do rarely anyway) so I can clip the leash on her back and not deal with her constantly stepping over and getting tripped on all the loose leash.  Now I'm a very paranoid dog owner and I have this fear that one of my dogs might spook or get charged by a loose dog and bolt.  I have an attachment I made so I can loop it through their harness and clip it to a slip collar so if they ever did step out of a harness, I still have them by the neck.

Chasing the disc (which she will not actually pick up and retrieve).  I like to test the fit with her sprinting.

I swear Kenya has the best head tilt in the world. Also, I don't think that Coke actually walks  on 4 legs. Every picture of him he's always on 2 legs, either front or back lol

Ooooooo. . .Kenya's got a Willow harness!   If you look really closely at my signature picture the picture of her sitting on the stone bench you can see it on her back--we never see the strap in front--too much mane, LOL!

PS-She won't be able to step out of this harness.

Don't everybody jump off a cliff, or I'll follow, LOL. I just ordered one. I can't stand it, anymore! Emma NEEDS one!

A friend of mine has one that she uses on her spooky Lab rescue. It works GREAT for him, and it's the only thing he's never gotten out of. I looove the fit of it, on him, and he's one of those weird shaped dogs.

    Kenya is a perfect modelSmile

    Great pictures!

Hey I recognize that harness Wink

I recognize the harness as well. Big Smile Kenya looks wonderful in it! Thats a good idea with clipping the tags on the back too. Salem always wears harness and collar.

Be prepared though, people constantly ask me if Salem is a service dog when he wears it. You may get that more with a gsd.

she seems to feel very important with it on

Isn't that cute? My guys are the same way with their packs. Anyway, Kenya is poetry! The 2nd and 4th pictures are fantastic! I like the shadow picture, too. Kenya looks very important and cool with her harness on.

Kenya looks amazing and Coke is just too cute dancing.  I guess the time DH spent with Kenya when you were gone paid off??

BTW - you take amazing pictures!!!

Yeah, it's weird.  She did NOT do very well while I was gone (would not neat, would not poop, cowered all day), but then as soon as I cam back she started approaching him more.  She even jumped up on him once when we came home!  She NEVER jumps on anything or anyone but me and her "Grandma" Julie (her breeder/previous owner).  Usually though she will approach him when he has food.  Oh well, whatever works.  She will never be attached to him, which is fine, but the goal is for her to not be nervous or scared around him.  I want her to be comfortable in her own home.  He has no interest in training and competing with her anyway.

Second - I love the shadow pic... thats a great idea and it came out well!!
