Need vacuum recommendation

Can anyone recommend a decent vacuum for $150 or less or am I dreaming? My current one I got 3 years ago, it was a refurb. It has worked just fine and it cost me $60 so it would have been $120 if it was not a refurb. I think it died last night. I'll have to borrow my dad's shop vac to finish what I was working on, but I vacuum my house 2-3 times a week so I need one of my own ASAP...

I just got a dyson and i'm all about it, but it's very expensive :(

There used to be a vac...Bissell smart vac that i liked, but i don't know if it's still made. It was $150 on the dot.

and i really like this one!!

If it was me i would go with the little hoover.

It's loud but it does a decent job and Target has it for $150

Wow, that's so tempting for me too!! I've been wanting a Dyson forever but haven't had the extra money to buy one yet!! I have the Phantom, its good, my mom gave it to me a few years ago but from daily use due to Teddi's shedding I think we will need one soon.

Congrats! I bought mine refurbished from Overstock last year, and I love it! They don't have any deals right now though...

I went home over lunch to let the dogs out and I started fiddling with my other one. I thought the belt broke b/c it started smoking last night. The belt looks fine. I pulled out a bunch of crap stuck all in it, set it all back up, turned it on, and it made a horrible noise. However, I didn't screw all of the screws all the way back in, in case I had to open it again, so I'm hoping it jiggled loose. I ran out of time so I'll try it again tonight. Maybe I can get it working and sell it for $20.

Now I have to explain the Animal to DH...

Jada would like to recommend the shop vac - she thinks it tastes great and is less filling.
