Wow, putting it all in perspective - Randy Pausch

If you haven't seen this yet, or didn't see the ABC Special tonight, this is worth setting aside some time for:

I'm 30 minutes into the lecture right now.  Interesting guy.  Has he passed on?  I didn't see the ABC special...but this lecture was over six months ago which means he's beaten the odds again if he is still laive.

As of the show last night, he is still alive, beating the predictions and savoring every moment with his family.  :(

Thanks for posting this - I did miss the special last night and was very interested.

This story hits close to home, since Randy Pausch was at CMU, here in Pittsburgh its a very big deal and there was several local articles.  Also, my boss is the surgeon who operated on him!  Though, I didn't hear that from him of course but rather Randy's blog.

I give this guy so much credit for having such a good outlook and being so optomistic.  I imagine that having a terminal disease makes you go through many, many emotions and having a young family to boot..... At least he has been able to draw on the best cancer research around the country and thankfully so far it is helping.  Folks like him are why I go to work everyday.....

I'm sorry I missed the ABC special, but I am very interested in getting the book....

My heart just broke to hear him say that [paraphrasing] his family was about to be pushed off a very big cliff and he couldn't be there to catch them, but he could start sewing nets now and that's what he was doing.  Crying
