I am so sad

    I am so sad

Usually, I take my dogs on vacation with me.  This week I am going with my son and his wife and my two grandchildren camping in a camper in the mountains.  I, therefore, took my dogs to a very nice boarding kennel.  It has several fenced areas where they can play with other dogs their size.  They will probably have tons of fun, but I am sooooo sad about leaving them.  They were so excited when we got in the car--they just knew we were going someplace fun.  Then I left them at the kennel.  Gracie, the Golden looked at me like what are you doing.  The Westies were excited at first.  They had to bring Olivia back up front to check her collar, and she had the same look on her face.  I am going to miss them so much.  It is amazing how attached we get to our dogs.

Oh, I know how you feel! But be assured that they will have a great time and will also be super glad when you get back! I have an extremely hard time leaving my dogs, too. And when I go, I fly thousands of miles away, so it's even harder!

I usually call the kennel at least once while I'm gone just to check and see how they are doing. It helps.

Have a good time with your family and try to relax. I'm sure they'll be fine.

I know exactly how you feel!!!  My boys are at the kennel tonight.  My son had an awards banquet at his college and I wouldn't be back in time to pick them up so they're at the kennel for 2 nights even though I was only gone for one.  The house is SOOOOO empty with just me and the kitties!  Crying  I can't pick them up until 4 pm on Sunday and I should be enjoying the quiet time and the ability to knock out some schoolwork undisturbed, but

    I MISS MY BABIES!!!!!!

I know.  We are not leaving until tomorrow, but I had to drop them off today because they are closed for drop-offs tomorrow morning.  The house seems so empty with just my kitty and me.  I miss my girls soo much!!!!!  I hope they are having a good time.  I also wonder if they are wondering why they are where they are.  Are they afraid I won't come to pick them up.  The kennel is a good one though, and let them go out and play with other dogs, so, hopefully they will have lots of fun.  Have fun with your babies when you pick them up tomorrow evening.

Thanks!  My guys are staying at the place they go to daycare sometimes, so it's at least a familiar place.  They get to play and run with other dogs and then are kenneled to sleep, so it's more like home than a concrete run.  I wonder also what they're thinking.  Like, they probably thought they were just there for playtime like always, but then nighttime came and I didn't pick them up, then a 2nd night..... Sad   And Woobie doesn't eat much when he's boarded, so he'll be skinnier when I pick them up.  They're both rescues, so I wonder if they start thinking that they're off to a new place again.....

Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!  4:00 Sunday can't come soon enough!!!
