...is where I am going tomorrow. I've been to the Alabama gulf many a time, but never the Florida panhandle. After the winter we've had (worst on record) I think I'd settle for Ohio! See you in a week...

If it makes you feel any better, we are driving down, all five of us in one pickup truck (my parents and their friends). We split the cost, but I'm paying the most b/c DH is not coming and we split it between three couples. Oh well, I feel like it will be worth it even if there's only 1/2 day of sun...

Five in one pickup truck (eyes bug out of head)!! Eessh. There is DEFINITELY sun, at least in Central FL. Bring your sunblock!

I have friends in Niceville (Rocky Bayou Christian Academy -- not typical for the area - very Calvinistic - I came close to teaching there at one time). It's not typically what you'd think of as a vacation destination -- near to Eglin, but not that near. The beach is nice tho!! Hope your weather is good - it was really warm today!

Watch the sun tho, Liesje - this is the time of year FL is the closest to the sun -- there's quite a breeze so you won't 'feel' hot but the rays are very direct and you'll burn easily. The sand is SOOOOOO white there - it looks like salt!! No joke!
