Great article in NJ newspaper about an adopted Elkhound routing the family from a fire...beautiful story about a rescued dog rescuing its adopted family...

I was just going to post that story! LOL The family is on the Elkhound list I belong to. They're about an hour from me.

Hey Micksmom...I'm in NJ too. I know that you have been around for quite some time, wasn't there an Elkhound mom that used to post here quite often, maybe went by the name of Elkhound lover or something like that?

Believe it or not, there were a few people with Elkhounds at the old site, one who just started posting a couple of weeks ago. But to answer your question, yes, there was a woman who posted as Elkhoundlover (maybe it was Elkhoundluver) awhile ago.

Where in NJ are you? I'm in Warren County.

We're in Union County. I ride at the stables in Somerset Cty, Lord Stirling Stables. Have you ever been to their dog walks on the horse trails? Their property is lovely.
