DH and I decided to take a long weekend and visit some family in Rochester NY. It was so nice and relaxing. We went to visit DH's mom's cousin (so I guess his 2nd cousin??). We visit every year anyway because we vacation at his place on the lake and where we had our wedding last year, but I have never been there or seen the lake in the winter time. I took a lot of pictures and thought I'd share.
We stayed at his house instead of at the lake since it's closer to things like restaurants and other places to visit.
So, here is what the lake usually looks like when I see it:
And this is what I saw this weekend. It was still very pretty, but so very different.

Then we went to Cummings Nature Center and walked around a bit. There were some really tall and beautiful pine trees:
But it was really cold so we didn't stay long...
The back yard, he has 1.4 acres of land and lots of deer, so I spent a lot of time sneaking up on them to get pictures. You'd think I had never seen a deer before

Sorry, you can see glare in some. I was trying to take these through windows. But we had a great time, we're glad to be home, and the dogs, even though they love grandma, were so happy to have us back.
