    Callie or other herbal folks?

Lily has a VERY irritated and nauseous tummy, and I am very tired from being up with her hurling all night. Which tea is it that helps? Chammomile? Peppermint? I forget...it has to be something we can get at a grocery store...

    Thank you

    Chammomile

That one. Ginger is good, too. I'm sure Callie will have other suggestions.

doc prescribed something interesting...a GEL that you rub into your skin to settle your stomach...interesting...I hope it works.

*Either* chammomile (which reduces inflammation and irritation so probably is best in this case) OR peppermint (a soother) are good for tummy.

Since you're seeing intestinal problems I'd add some slippery elm (usually any health store has it -- often in bulk).  You can use the chammomile to 'brew' the slippery elm.

don't throw away the wet soggy herbs of the chammomile -- add them to her food (not at all bad tasting)

Slippery elm -- empty the caps if you have to get caps -- about a teas. of slippery elm to about 1/4 c. water (or chammomile) tea -- warm works best.

It becomes a gelatenous goo -- you can add just a tiny bit of broth or even a bit of honey to it -- a spoonful 4 times a day -- great to calm down an irritable intestinal/gastric problem.

Thank you Callie. I am fascinated with this "gel" they called in. I guess only "compounding pharmacies" carry it...we have several in our area (who knew? we use CVS lol)...DH is on his way to pick it up...might be nice to keep on hand. I know vomiting is what the body needs to do sometimes but...

compounding pharmacies...my world stretched a bit...going to go look the term/idea/practice up.

Pirate's meds come from a compounding pharmacy. I think it's a pharmacy where they MAKE medicine, not just pack it up from a big bulk pack to little wee bottles. Not quite sure tho. They sure are nice people there - it's a pretty small familyish kind of deal.
