Mindless Chatter - hump day

    Mindless Chatter - hump day

I met a few people yesterday after work and we all took the dogs hiking at some trails I haven't been to in a while. They all had a blast. This little JRT was swimming! Crazy dog.

I have to get Neiko back in some sort of class. Or get to the agility club. He gets bored way too easily. 1.5 hrs of running after work doesn't cut it for him. He actually chewed up my tennis shoe last night. He hasn't done that since he was a pup!

I have many meetings this morning. bleh.

    Off I go!

We took a walk with my sister in law and her dog last night again. The dogs had a nice time playing, but Bailey and Salem wiped out going for the same ball and Salem came up lame in his back leg. Bailey is fine. The leg seems okay this morning, but its still a bit stiff, so I will probably leave him home tonight. He sprained the same leg last year, so now I'm wondering if this will be a reacurring thing. The vet said since it is a little better today just to rest him for a few days and come in if he isn't completely better then. Poor baby.

Cheza slept through the night last night, which was so nice. No midnight potty trips! I'm hoping it sticks. We are bringing the dogs to Ocean City Easter weekend, and we are staying in a hotel. I really don't want to be on an elevator at midnight with a dancing puppy who really needs to go.

This will be little Cheza's first vacation. I'm sure she will have a blast! She hasn't seen the Ocean before.

Salem's Mom be careful. I am not trying to scare you but that is similar to how my Maxine tore her CCL (she was T boned playing like that). She did NOT look very lame for 4 months afterward. In fact she hardly limped, she just finally got to a point when she would get up from laying down she had a hard time extending the leg and putting it down, once she did she was fine. I knew that was not normal and had her checked. I hope Salem is fine.

I have been good busy at work, but some of our department staff should be in serious trouble. They had my boss and co-worker running around yesterday trying to get a big name speaker for one of our CME courses paid by the course. This is NOT normal procedure and we usually request a month notice, we got less than a week. We HAD to submit last night for payment to be made. Today my boss gets an email from the loser requester (not the speaker) the amount may be in error and he will let her know this AM. Guess what the payment is already in process we can't stop or change it now! This is such a screw up. I hope someone gets in trouble (they should) but alas it will go as if nothing happened. Part of the reason I want out of my department. No one is being held accountable for their actions and lately it has all been screw ups. The people making the errors don't worry because my unit will fix it. We do because we must but it pisses me off. This same person who screwed up wanders in to work at 12:30PM and no one says boo to him. That pisses me off too. I felt guilty leaving 20 min early on Friday without permission, I had worked a lunch earlier in the week which is why I did it.

I am so glad the temps are milder. It makes life easier. I have to say the daylight savings time making lighter at the end of the day longer makes me think it is spring. Perhaps because years past when the clocks changed in April it was finally becoming spring at the same time.

I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT DAY!!!!

I am a little worried about that. When he had his sprain last year the vet pretty much ruled that out. All of the motions seemed right and nothing showed on the x-rays, but I have worried ever since that maybe it was a partial tear that she couldn't feel.

Since this is the 2nd injury I might try to get him to a specialist.

    Poor Salem, be more careful!

I am waiting for the stupid mailman and it stinks. WHY do people like to send me things with signature conformation, huh? Oh wait, it's because I obviously have no life and can spend all day waiting for the mailman. I don't even want to walk the dog because I'm sure that's when he would show up.

I think I was just told to goof off more. The person who gets the returns after me has 5 boxes to check, and there is not much for me to do tomorrow as it stands right now. If I wasn't leaving early, I think I'd be forced too. I was actually told to take my time and make sure I'm not making mistakes. I take that to mean take more time checking your email and message boards. I haven't been told I'm making errors, and really, it's just because I type faster than the average person. The person who gets the stuff after me said that I would do about 30 a day, and I assume that is based on an 8 hour day. I average 5-6 an hour with some goof off time included. That's how I got to the conclusion that I should check the boards more.

I think I'll go check my email again now and see if my grade was changed yet, though it hasn't been for the past 2 1/2 weeks, including about a half hour ago.

Well, Meg, if it's any consolation, someone mailed me something from England back in December that still hasn't arrived.... Gotta love customs, I guess.

I am being offered a job here (after the 90 day temp agency contract, or sooner if I am too fed up with the agency.) I have to decide this week if I want it...  What I really want is to be independently wealthy.

Funny story about that mailman. Apparently I had a 'sub' mail carrier today, and he just left the little 'Sorry we Missed You!' card in the mailbox (we have community mailboxes, that are in a group and you have a key) instead of delivering it!! When I tried to go pick it up they told me it was still out with the mail carrier, and that I could call around 4 to see if it was in (GRRR!) When I called back it I ended up talking to my neighbor! He lives down the block from me. He tracked it down and brought it home after work.

I want to be independently wealthy too. What I was waiting for in the mail was from my Grandma and it had an extra $100 in it for me though. That'll do.

Yep ;) The check she actually sent was for $300 but I have to share it with my brother and sister. Darn it. I might not tell them she sent it for them and just keep it all, muahhahahaha!!

Wow, 9 years ago today I met hubby.  It has been a long wonderful 9 years!  lol!

On another note, I am really getting tired of working so much....this is totally typical by this time in tax season, just barely a month from the deadline, but I am so ready for some free time.  I mentioned leaving last night to go to yoga and my boss encouraged me which I am glad b/c I really enjoyed and needed it...but I worked at home after that!  I am suppossed to go to dinner with some friends tomorrow night but I am seriously considering cancelling.  I would rather go to Pilates honestly.  My free and personal time is so limited right now that I would rather spend it alone, unengaged, doing my own thing.  Plus, I feel like I need to work tomorrow night.  I will take off Friday and Sat and Sun night too probably and I can't take tomorrow night off too w/o feeling guilty.  I am trying so hard to avoid not being able to come home at night and work.  Ugh!

I can't stop thinking about getting out in my garden and planting and digging and playing.  I am ready to put my plants back outside and even thinking I will plant both of my hibiscus in the ground this year.  Just one more month and I will be a free woman again!

I came home today and had to take my mom to the hospital. She had blood tests done earlier in the day, and got the call that she had to be admitted. She's having a blood transfusion, why I do not know exactly. She also was supposed to have a cat scan tonight, because at some point they also determined she has internal bleeding. Oh the drama... I didn't go there tonight, because she wanted me to get her a nintendo ds. She actually wanted the vision training game, and didn't know until I told her that she had to buy the whole system to get that. So, till I went to work, then to Target, it was too late to go there, since the visiting hours are only until 8:30. I was going to use it as an excuse not to work tomorrow, but my dad told me to. My mom's having an attitude about the whole thing, and this is not the result of her walking around with a cough for 6 months refusing to get it treated. This also means I have to rush around a lot tomorrow, because I do have to get there sometime, and I also have to go to a meeting that is a few weeks overdue for occurring tomorrow. Since I don't think I have much to do, I think I actually won't goof off too much tomorrow, and I'll leave a little earlier than I originally planned too.
