    Finally found beef ribs!

And not the little short ribs either . . . i've been searching for these things for winston for a while now. He's never had a RMB before but he is certainly enjoying it as I type.

There was a good amount of meat on there and I just left it for him. He is now working his way down to the bone and quite a happy dog at that.

I will let him gnaw on the bone for a little while but my main purpose is the teeth cleaning as opposed to the chewing.

Anything in particular I need to know about beef rib bones? These are not small enough for him to swallow, unless he starts breaking off chunks . . . at that point should I take it away or just let him go?

If he does start to brake pieces off I would take it away. I can't give these to my girls because they caused the runs the first time I let them try them.

I'm sure winston will get the runs too from the first few however he eats natures variety raw medallions already and that actually really helps "solidify" things coming from the back end.

I took the one he had today away from him when he started getting off chunks. i don't think though that he managed to get any substantial pieces off as most of the bone was there when I took it away.

Having any sort of GI upset is normal when introducing RMBs.  The key is to do it a little at a time.

I give my boy chicken backs, chicken livers & gizzards (cooked,) beef ribs, soup bones, cube steak, ground beef, hot dogs, eggs (raw & scrambled) and a plethora of other meats.  The trick is not to overdo it and not to overfeed.
