i'm such a dunce

i'm sooooo not comp. savy! my last comp(hardive) fried because of not cleaning or having a anti-virus protector. i lost ALL my pics because i neve knew how to back them up......soooo ticked off at myself!!!!!!!!!!! anyways, got new comp. & installed nortin anti virus. my problem is this.....i downloaded or uploaded(not sure which is correct term)my new pics onto a cd-r, i thought i followed the instructions correctly but now they're not im my comp. anywhere & so i put disc back in & they're not there either---empty!? be honest---i screwed up again didn't i?

also---if i take the mem. card from my camera to cvs or best buys ect could they retrieve all the pics even though i erased them to start anew?

i'm so mad at myself, they were of my partner & myself, she just took me to ny(1st time ever-for me)for my 38th b-day, for the wkend.

Oh man!! I wish I could help you out, but I' not really sure where the pictures could have gone. I do really hope you're able to find them though!!

Have you tried doing a search on your computer for them?

Also I am pretty certain if you delete the pictures from a memory card, they can't be retrieved. A computer hard drive is different, because it will always leave trace of the previous material that usually can be retrieved with one program or another. Have you tried contacting a computer tech and asking them? That might be your best bet, good luck I hope you find your pictures! Smile

Oh maaan!! I have no advice on how to get your stuff back but you definitely have my good thoughts that you can get them back. I've been in your shoes. It stinks.

They *might* be able to retreive them. Take them into a camera store. WHen I bought my camera and memory card, the guy told me that if i delete a picture on accident, if i take it in there is apossibility they can retrieve it.

It is worth a shot!
