New Moon's Obstruction of Justice "Justin"
6 year old male
Sable
Going to be shown by me this year :-)
Tonight I began working with my new client dog, Justin.
Justin is a sable GSD, Amline, 6 years old, unfinished....and I have taken him on in the hopes that I can get him his championship.
He wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting fine boned, gangly, over angulated, and a temperament that was "YERGH!", but what I got was a dog with nice movement, solid temperament (from what I saw tonight...not a spookbag for sure), good bone, handsome head, and nice color. Good mover too, and very biddable and obedient.
What got me most was looking at his grizzled old face, and in that face I saw my Ranger dog 4 years ago.
When I first started in dogs, I started with Ranger. I knew nothing, but was willing to learn, and I took on that Veteran with a great enthusiasm. Loved him to death, and still do. But this time around I'm starting with a lot more knowledge and understanding of what I'm doing. This time I know that if I'm careful in my judge selection and don't overdo anything, I can finish this dog. This time it's different.
It is SO nice knowing I have a GSD to show, and this dog just brings back a lot of great memories of when I first started, so I'm hoping for the best.
