Hey Xebby! I was wonderin' where you and Gizmo had got to.... Conrats on graduating. Smile

Thanks EVERYONE for such a warm welcome!  Gizmo is also doing great!  This summer she might start herding at a place called Fee To Be Ranch (http://www.freetoberanch.com/) and I'm so excited about seeing real working healthy border collies doing what they are bred to do.  I've met a few from the ranch and they are mostly smooth coated BCs that look just like Gizzy so I think she should fit in nicely.  I got a new camera for Christmas so I should be posting some pics on here shortly.

Another thing that keept me busy for a few weeks was a litter of puppies I fostered.  One night someone dropped off a box of 8 puppies at the front door of the clinic I work at.  They were only about 4 weeks old, their ears just opened and they could hardly walk.  We knew if we took them to the local shelter they would be put down as soon as they got there.  So I contacted a few rescues, found a few homes and now all are placed in their forever homes.  They sure where a handful and are now 8 weeks old, we think they are shepherd/shar pei mixes but it's still so early to know exactly what they are and they all looked so different.

Hey Xebby,,,did you keep any of the pups?

I really wanted to keep more then one of the puppies but at this point I really can't, I don't even know where I will be living come the end of this summer if I do decide to go to grad school, let alone the time I would have to spend with it.  They sure where cute little buggers and I still see them around from a few clients who adopted them.  I've also put off owning a Beardie until I at least own a home and am completely out of college.  Last time I moved it was such a challenge to find a place to rent that allowed just one dog, two herding dogs might be pushing it a bit.  For now I think starting Gizzy in herding is going to be challenging enough.  In a few weeks I am going to take her to see the sheep for the first time and see how well she does with them, I'm hoping her natural border collie instinct will kick inConfused.
