    Theme? (Gina)

Gina, whats your theme for this litter?
    • Gold Top Dog
Oh gosh I have a list a mile long of groups of themes and such. I really haven't picked even a firm favorite 3 yet. I think I'll have to..this time, wait and see how many boys/girls,...what colors...see if that clarifies things any....cuz right now I cannot decide!

To make this interesting to everyone else tho....
What themes have you used with your dogs/other pets? movies? book characters? Same first letter?
Have you heard any registered names or themes that you like or do you have some sequestered in your mind for "someday"?

at a vet I used to work for I liked the crayola litter (they were Irish Setters), have also seen a disney duck theme (lab litter mostly males), We had another litter come through of Rotti pups the owners had shaved a small area on each to distinguish one from the other and their "names" were after the body part shaved.  Ears, heady, Rapawsy, Lapawsy, etc., another Christmas litter of Irish setters were named after Santa's reindeer.  Jelly bean litters.  Thats all I can remember off the top of my head.

Even though it will be years before we breed, this occured to me the other day. Remember the saying "been there, done that," well....

    Been There aka Ben
    Done That aka Dun
Have the T-Shirt aka Mr. T
Don't Want the T-Shirt aka Don Juan
Don't Want THAT T-Shirt aka Diva (debating want vs. need in this one)

The last two are just add ons in case there was more than three[:)]

and yes my brain is wierd LOL

For my future pets and when I breed, I'd really like to go with a Nintendo theme. I like video games and I think the names of the characters in them generally make good pet names.

I think it's hard to go wrong with literary figures. I think Arwen and Aowen are great names for girls...and there are really strong male names in LOTR...might be a little too strange for some, but I think they're unsusal and beautiful.

Musicians.  Kurt (Cobain), Sully (Erna), Corey (Taylor), Ed (Sloan), Lacey (Mosley), Ani (Difranco)...or whoever you enjoy.

Rose and her brother, Flame, were born around the same time that Johnny Cash died.  So, her former co-owner named them "Wildwood Flower" and "Ring of Fire."  Music is my other passion in life, besides my pets.  So, I named the two of Rose's babies that we kept "Louis Armstrong" and "Johnny Cash."  Cash will stay with my mentor and then possibly with me after I get more space.  I would also like to show him in bred by, so I wanted something that tied back to Rose's name so that when people see him they say "wow, Rose really made a great dog!"  No one really liked her much at shows, but shes a very nice dog and I want to prove that!  Plus, Cash just worked for him!  Louis because I've liked that name for a dog and almost named Colton either Louis or Satchmo...but it just didnt fit.  When I told my dad the boy's names this weekend, he said "do you remember that when you were little, you called EVERYTHING Louis?"  I don't remember that, but he must have been made for that name!  Both of the boys have blues type singer names...well, not exactly blues for Cash, but had some blues type songs.
For the next litter, I may go with another genre of music, or well, I don't know what else!
