Hi ,
I did locate a website at one time that has dog stairs built for window seating also. For the life of me I cannot recall what the website is, but if I locate it I will post it on here. At the top of these stairs is a wide bed area for a dog to sit. I believe the stairs are adjustable. I have considered making my own window dog seat with stairs. It wouldn't be that difficult to do.
I always want to give pet parents a word of caution. Some on here say to beware of your dog going through the window screen. I want to tell something worse. My brother-in-laws dog didn't go through the window screen, but went through the window glass. His dog was impaled on the glass and was killed by the glass going through his abdomen. The Vet could not save the poor furry child. What an awful situation for a pet and their pet parent to go through.
As of right now my puppy likes to jump on the window when she sees passer bys. She sits on a chair that goes next to the window sill. I watch her closely and most the time I move the chair away from the window so she doesn't directly jump on the window glass. I forsure take the chair away from the window when she will be home alone. I move it away far enough so she can sit on the chair and cannot reach the window. She can still have a good view out the window. I know she doesn't like it when I take the chair away from the window, but tough bounce. I want her to be safe and not killed by glass.
So I thought I would pass this along. Watch those furry kids that sit at windows. My brother-in-law now has a new dog and his windows sit near the floor, so he build a large wood box that blocks the lower part of the window so the dog cannot get near the glass, but yet his furry kid can look out. But the incident with his former dog was when the dog was sitting on the chair to a window not near the floor. I have heard numerous other stories of pets going through windows and the furry child lost their life. Not something I want to go through and I am sure other pet parents feel the same way.
