Hi, Im new from Virginia

Hello all,

I am here from Southside Virginia. I have had dogs all my life. My mother was a breeder and AKC judge. I have raised dogs for 30 years and been a professional groomer for 20. I am owned by 7 dogs, 2 cats, 2 goats, 8 chickens, 1 guinea hen who thinks she is a chicken, and 1 horse. Between the dogs at home and the dogs at the grooming shop, you could pretty well say that I have gone to the dogs. I also teach obedience classes in my spare time and have worked with both dog and horse rescue.

Thanks! Yes, active indeed. I wanted to be a vet when I was young. After having worked for vets, I think in the end, grooming is a much nicer way to work with animals. Much less heartache and you get to spend more time with them. Its also nice to have a job where my dogs can participate. While Kory goes to work with me almost every day, the other dogs all take turns going to the shop. They love all the attention.

I'm over in the Central Virginia area. Sounds like a pretty fun life. Can't imagine anyone not wanting to share their lives with a pet (dog, cat, etc.)

Welcome from NC! Sounds like you stay busy with animals!! I have 3 dogs, 5 cats, 1 rabbit, and my hubby has 4 snakes. So we have a zoo around here!

Hi from another newbie!

I've also groomed professionally for many years(owned my own shops), it's a very rewarding profession. Nothing like getting doggie kisses from new or repeat clients daily. Welcome!!
