My 16 Year old cat had a seizure this morning.

I am glad she hasn't had any more seizures you know of - that is encouraging.  Just want to urge you to consider having her blood pressure checked if that hasn't been ruled out as long as you are bringing her in for another test - it's very simple and non-invasive - they might shave a little fur off a leg to get a good read, but that is it.  Her being off balance could be a result of high blood pressure, too...

The vet called this morning with test results.  Her folate level was low, which they are calling it IBD.  We are going to try out the steroids he also suggested a prescription diet, which I'd have to feed to all 4 cats to make sure that's all she ate. So I'm going to shop around for similar foods with short ingredient lists and try that out.  Hopefully we can increase her appetite and get her weight back up to where it needs to be.  The Zuke's Hip Action treats I think are helping her feel a little better too.

So does anyone have any food suggestions as an alternative to Hill's z/d?

Z/D is a pretty unique food. It consists of food that has been modified to the point where it isn't recognizable to the body. You probably won't find anything else like it.

Good luck with Glupy and the Hills food.

Talking about that, we have a pretty serious problem with cat's food here in Venezuela. My female cat Zarina has a kidney condition and she has to be forever in a c/d Hills diet or any other brand of urinary care diet. But for the last two months it has disappeared from the stores and nobody knows when it will come back... it's such a horrible situation. My two cats eat the same and yesterday I changed Luke to a regular friskies kibble and Zarina with the c/d trying to let it last as much as it can. While we are trying to find more food... I don't know if I will end buying it online and hoping it arrives well.
