Xerxes's new trick

    Xerxes's new trick

I caught him doing something very spectacular (and totally against the rules!)

He's learned how to open the sliding window. I watched him pull the latch and then use his nose to open the window....just so he could stick his head out of it and watch (possibly to bark at) passersby on the trail.

Can someone tell me why I didn't get a dumb dog?

Can't help you there! My dog is afraid to walk passed the vacuum....only when it is off and his new favorite toys are the christmas stockings...

You just have one very smart boy =]

I feel your pain! Dakota knows how to open sliding glass doors and the screen behind it. The only problem with that is that she will also take advantage of that chance at escape - being a husky and all.

She also recently opened a friends push up window and escaped that way too.

Dogs are too smart for their own good sometimes.

Jewlieeee, as it is, I can't let him watch me secure things.  He watches and then processes and figures out how to reverse engineer whatever I've done.

One of my friends has had bungee cords around her fridge for the last 4 years...her PHs figured out how to open the fridge and steal fresh foods.  I hope I never get to that stage!

lol I can't imagine a dog knowing how to open a fridge! What a nightmare!

Imagine this then...one that knows how to open the fridge teaching the others how to do it, while another one stands watch for humans lurking about...that's how PHs operate.  Tell me why I love them again, will you?

Because they make great funny faces? :)

when she was younger my alpha bitch would open the door to the laundry hamper, steal several socks, hide the socks in various places around the house, and here's the really amazing part, carefully CLOSE the hamper door. It took us forever to figure out why we never had any socks...

Wow, scary! You just need to take him and shrink him really small. Like Rascal-sized. There's only so much you can do when you're not tall enough to reach door handles or strong enough to move furniture!

I can understand Huskies finding a way to escape. They didn't get the name escape artist for nothing.

But a dog that can conceal his/her crime but closing the hamper? That's just scary.

    Wow, he's very clever!

Sometimes, I am ever so grateful for Cash's lack of brains.  Colton is way too smart.  He pushes things around the kitchen to use as a stool to get on the counter...and just the other day, I guess he didn't like where his bed was, so he pushed it across the room to lay down.  Cash, on the other hand, just sits and wiggles looking cute.  Hes really no fun to train though!

I found out that yesterday he got into the spare bedroom and did the same thing, only ripping the screen in the process.  This dog's gonna cost me a fortune!
