Is One of Your Dogs...

At the moment, Lizzie gets more attention, but she's a fluffy puppy, so that's fairly inevitable. When I have Mal AND Indy out, Indy gets more attention- he's just a more charismatic dog, and I think he's just easier to appreciate. Mal has a lovely, correct collie head and a wonderful, sweet expression- but he likes to bark (which frankly, is very offputting) and if you're not LOOKING for the cute, he's easy to miss. When I have him out by himself though, he gets TONS of compliments- he IS very striking- Indy is just plain 'cuter'. (Indy is also a ham and will make little flirtatious bits of eye contact with strangers and do the 'stare and wave, come pet me now' look. Mal is more focused on me.)

Off the three, I think Lizzie is bidding fair to be the prettiest mover, which really surprises me- Indy's a spectacular mover, and Lizzie's just downright gorgeous.  It helps that she's a more moderate breed (as close to square as possible vs the long back and short legs of the corgis). She's got a TON of 'look at me!' attitude, so I think she and Indy will probably compete forever for cutest and it will come down to personal taste- as always. :P Once the GS gets full recognition, I may try brace in rally with them, since they'll be about the same height.

    Definitely.

When it was Nikki and Missy, Nikki would be fawned over, while Missy would be virtually ignored.  But, it sounds like most of you have the same situation where the "less attractive" dog makes up for it in personality.  Missy is the sweetest dog on earth and gives the best little smoches... and has fantastic aim.

Now that it's Logan and Nikki.... Logan gets ALL the attention.  Granted he's a puppy and in this area a fairly rare breed.  But, people just glance over Nik and straight to Logan. Everyone wants one, everyone has questions or comments about him. I've even noticed it on the photo section (which is absolutely fine!!) Nikki is "cute too" where as Logan is "beautiful".  Which is true, even I can tell the difference :)  It's easy to see; Logan  is clearly a show quality pup and nikki is an adorable mutt :)

Trudy is all fluffy and soft, white and black and cute.  She has that distinctive black/white face.  She is also very very friendly.  Everyone is drawn to her.   My 1 1/2 y.o. grand kids only have eyes for Trudy.  They learned her name immediately. She is a Diva, though.  I call her my canine "Paris Hilton".

Grace is not so "pretty" to the general public and she is a bit on the reserved side, although, I trust her much more with little kids than I do Trudy.  But Grace appeals to conformation people because she has presence and a gorgeous body that just clicks of you know balance and "correctness".  She also has an intelligent personality and a real willingness to please that appeals to performance folks.

Bevo & Shooter garner tons of attention when we take all of the dogs out.  Poor Chyna, Brinxx, & Schatzi are generally ignored.

I have learned that people are drawn to Bev's glossy coat, & pretty face.  What they don't realize is that while Bev may or may not acknowledge them, depending on his mood for the day, any of the "girls" would love the attention & would return their affection.  Shooter is oddly colored, which many people are drawn to.  He loves the attention & acts likes a goofball in order to keep the attention going.

My last dog was funny-looking and an absolute doll.  Gypsy is just as sweet (actually her temperament is better!) and she gets waaaay more attention that Sasha ever did. I just have outgoing dogs, just like me!

As of right now our Red and White male Gizmo gets all the attention cause his nothing more than a big goof and he wants everone to look at him.  Babydoo is my non attention getter I base this on her tom boy additude since she is always dirty and hates to be clean.

While a lot of folks are very nice and tell us both our dogs are beautiful and they get lots of positive feedback on their lean, fit physiques, Pofi is just an unusual looking dog and therefore gets a bit more attention and fawning.  He just doesn't look quite like any other dog - we'll see dogs with the same markings, but more of a husky or shepherd coat and build.  Then you see him near sighthounds and think how much his legs and movement look like them, but he's not so needle nosed and then there's the ears.  I do think he's striking and he very much engages with people so that is part of it.

But people do love goldens and Mia is a pretty thing, so she gets lots of compliments, too.  She is likely a mix, too, but her look isn't quite as unusual as Pofi's.

Trey gets all the attention if he's out.  He's simply a stunning dog to look at and there's no denying that.  Now, beau doesn't really tolerate this and soon enough people discover that beau is the one that is the most people oriented.  Beau just has the most charisma of any dog I've known.  While people usually go up to Trey first the one they like the best after meeting them is Beau.  Everyone who meets Beau loves him.  Rose is pretty but she's not as good looking as her brother.  Nikki is a touch homely now in her old plump age, but I thought she was pretty as a youngster.  She has the most gorgeous eyes, but she has a thinner coat than Trey and her odd ears are kind of unique...  No one comes close to Trey though.

I'm a little partial, but I think they all have their pretty moments:
