Christmas Gift for trainer?

    Christmas Gift for trainer?

Rory is currently in obedience. We'll be in the classes until mid january. Do I need to get the trainer a Christmas gift? If so, does anyone have a good inexpensive gift idea?

I am making my agility trainer a gift bag of homemade dog treats for her dogs.  I have no idea what kind of thing she'd want for herself, but her dogs will appreciate the treats.  (And I know what they eat normally, so I know I can make ones that they *can* eat.)

I think a two plates of cookies/goodies - one for the humans in the class, the other for the pups would be a nice gesture.

I am making one of my trainers and the club owner presents.  Normally I wouldn't, but they've helped me a lot on the side, shared books, given me discounts, etc. above and beyond just being there during our classes.  I made a batch of "puppy chow" (for humans - it's Chex cereal covered in chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar) and I bought a dog Christmas cookie for each dog, plus a bag of dog treats that were on sale.  So the humans AND dogs get Christmas "puppy chow".  I'm also going to take a Christmas picture of my dogs to make the cards.  I probably won't give my pet therapy trainer a gift because I don't know her as well and I'd feel bad giving her a gift and not the helpers, but there's like 7 different helpers and they don't all come each time.  Plus, that trainer has a dog with severe allergies and I don't know what she's allergic too, likely something in the treats I bought.

As trainer, I have always appreciated it when my students gave me things for my dogs or that I could use in class (like really obnoxious distracting human toys that moved or moving mice for cats))

My trainer is getting handpainted ornaments of her dogs (http://www.ShinyStuff.us, if a minor bit of self-promotion is allowed) and a 5 pound bag of cheese cut into the size treat she prefers, as I feel like she spends FAR too much time every day cutting up cheese into pea-sized pieces.....

My trainer has helped us tremendously with Teddi and we have now enrolled Maggie into her small dog class. Im going to make mine a small gift basket with homemade dog treats, a dog toy for each of her dogs and probably a christmas bandana for each as well. I'm also going to throw in some homemade pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for her and her husband as well.
