    New to dogs.com

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, referred by a friend.  I have a 7 1/2 year-old Golden named Jasmine and a 12 month-old Flat-Coated Retriever named Gauge.  I teach and compete in obedience and also compete in agility and conformation.  I have been involved in rescue for many years and, in the past, have worked as a veterinary assistant and a handling assistant / groom.  I also have a full-time job on the side :)  I feed my dogs raw food and homemade treats, although I fed holistic kibble up until about a year ago and have had a lot of experience with rescue dogs with particular nutritional needs, although I'm always open to learning more.

    I also have a husband, a 17-month old son and a 9 1/2 year-old cat named Bogart.

I look forward to getting to know you, getting advice and sharing ideas!

    Melissa

Hi and welcome! I'm definetly interested in your feeding methods. My Pyr girl Shiloh is very picky and she's still got some filling out to do. We have her on blue buffalo but the price just went up again in our area, so trying to figure out what to feed her that may be a little less pricey but as good for her. Again, Welcome and hope you enjoy the forum!

Hi Melissa - I train, too, and specialize in therapy dogs.  I have two veteran therapy dogs, Sioux (Aussie mix in the photo) and Maska (hound) lost my special heart dog last year who was also registered with TD Inc. and I'm starting my Aussie, Sequoyah,  in tracking.  My fourth dog is an 18 year old Yorkshire Terror who keeps the others in line.  Welcome to the forum.
