    Mindless Chatter - Sunday

Hope Jewilee isn't mad at me for starting the thread, but I just had t since I'm up at 0'dark thirty.

Off to an agility trial this am, luckily only an hour away from home, but I have to be there at 7:15am. Stick out tongue   I hate running on less than 6 hours of sleep, but it should be a fun day: my first trial since I've moved!!  I even convinced a volunteer at the shelter I work at (and know fairly well) to come to see it since she wants to do agility with her dog and as a bonus she's bringing her super awesome camera to take pics with! Big Smile

Wish us speed, control, and a stress free day!

     I don't mind at all :)

Good luck at the agility trials!

I went to the MSU dog event yesterday. TONS of dogs there. They had all kinds of stuff going on. We watched for a bit then shopped at the vendors that were there. I bought one of those tuffies frisbees. Dang those things are expensive. But it'll be easier on my hand for tugging.

Dakota ate almost a whole can of food this morning. Wohoo. That's a big improvement! I weighed her yesterday and she dropped 2 lbs last week.

It's kind of icy here this morning (although it's raining now so it won't last long). We didn't get anywhere near the storm they were saying we were going to get. I knew it! ;p

i'm hung over. went for a girls' night out and discovered the bar we were at served "gluehwein". it's a german winter drink based on red wine and served hot. well it was great, but i think i got too excited, so today i'm paying the price. Ick! shoulda known better, i'm not so good with wine...

anyways, i'm about to fall asleep, so good night everyone! arent we all excited about monday coming up! Sad

CRAZY ice storm last night here!  Even this morning, things are starting to thaw, but it's pretty slippery.  It was exciting, because yesterday was both Honor's first snow AND ice experience.  I was all revved, hoping she was going to love the snow, but NOPE.  She stopped dead in her tracks, gave this look of tremendous disgust, and proceeded to pick up her paws a foot in the air in order to find a spot to do her business!  Hilarious, it was.  The funniest part is that she LOVED the ice storm!  We went out for her potty break of the night, and she was sliding over the frozen grass with glee...she's a very strange little dog!

Today, DH and I are taking Honor to meet Santa at the mall where I work.  Beyond the fact that it'll be cute, it will be a good socialization experience.  The girls at work are DYING to meet Honor, and I'm always happy to show her off!

My goals for today are to do all of the laundry, and finish the vest that I'm knitting for myself.  I need to finish the vest, because I'm making scarves as Christmas presents this year, and I need to get started on those!

    Happy Sunday!

I feel your pain with the hangover.  I went out with bf's friends, while bf is out of town.  We had a great time, but I am paying for it today.  Cranberry juice & vodka has seemed to help.

I got so much accomplished yesterday, that I really want to be lazy today, but that's not going to happen.  I need to go buy groceries, unless I feel like starving.  Maybe I'll do a little shopping while I am out.

I'm finally making some progress on the home front today (since it's rainy and icy out and I can't go anywhere anyway!). I'm in no hurry and just doing a relaxed job but so far I got the dishwasher going, cleaned the cans for recycling, did a bunch of laundry and put it away, cleaned the guest room and my room (changing sheets, etc) and picked up the living room. I also deodorized the carpet so I'm letting that sit before vacuuming. I still need to work my way down to the basement but I'm sure that I'll get to it eventually today!

Neiko has been my shadow the entire time, watching me so intently trying to figure out what I'm doing. He acts like he wants to help. So I have started to train him to fold towels lol. So far he just picks up the corner of the towel and bunches it up at my feet. It's too funny. I've also been doing some little training games like weaving through legs - toy naming, etc. So far he can pick out his duck, frisbee, monkey and flower. And I'm teaching Dakota to get her Kong. It should be a pretty nice productive day today :)

Well, this morning we did a 35 minute hike on this great nature trail near our new house.  It's only about 25 degrees here though so not all that much fun for me.  Willow thinks this weather is great!

Now we are getting ready to go by her grooming salon where they are having their annual Christmas party.  I stayed up very, very late making two kinds of fudge to give as gifts.  I'm actually pretty impressed with myself that I'm this disorganized from the move but managed to get it done.

I'm not going to stay long at the party so I can do a little shopping and then come home and continue to straighten things up here.  I'm hiring a cleaning lady for once a week.  But, before we can have her come over we need to finish unpacking and getting organized.

So,that's about it for today--exciting, huh?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Lets see.  I took Max for a walk then drove to the post office to mail my Christmas cards - then I went to a store having an appliance sale and bought a 48" LCD flat screen, which will be delivered and hooked up on Tuesday afternoon - giving me time to take the old cable box to the Comcast office and get an HD one.  Now I'm off to Costco in the hopes of finding something already cooked for dinner.

I'm jealous joyce, I love costco! I like the pre-made dinner section, those salads and turkey wrap wheels are awesome. I'm just being lazy doing some cleaning.

I wish we had a new TV for the bedroom.  Pretty soon we aren't going to have a choice b/c it is pretty old and it has started dying a lng ugly death.  The top inch or two of the screen is messed up but you can still see the picture for the most part so we have been holding off.

I have been cleaning like crazy today.  I clean every Sunday but about once a month I do a more deep cleaning.  That included the bathrooms.  I had a major battle with the dust bunnies.  We moved everythingn out of the kitchen into the dining room last week, plus all the dust created from our floors being removed created a huge amount of dust and dust bunnies.  Everytime I turned around there was another one to chase down with the vaccum.  I think I got most of them though.  I also did some touching up on some paint that needed to be done.

My parents are coming over for dinner.  My dad wants to use my new cooktop.  He is going to make green beans and Chris is making steaks on the grill at my mother's request.  My parent's think he makes the best steaks they have ever had and I must say that I agree.  I am glad I am married to him!  Stick out tongue  I am going to make some deviled eggs and I am thinking of making some sweet potatoes or maybe a sweet potatoe caserole.  I have only eaten 3 points so far today in anticipation of this yummy dinner and I must have earned at least 2 exercise points from all the cleaning I did.  Big Smile

How on earth am I supposed to study for my exams when it is BCS Bowl Selection day??

#1 Mizzou and #2 WVU both beaten yesterday, #3 Ohio in the slot for the Natn'ls ...maybe VaTech and WVU in the Orange Bowl? LSU in Nationals ? Us Hokies in the Nationals? It's madness! Georgia and Kanses down and out cause they didn't win their conferences? Who knows??

Oh my. I am a college footbal fanatic no doubt about it.
