    mold update (janetmichel3009)

thanks everyone for helping me out on this mold issue! i just finished cleaning it up today. i was cleaning last saturday but got exhausted. breathing through a mask isnt as refreshing as it might sound. then sunday i had to take moca to the vet and the whole week i couldnt clean cause i'm working during daylight hours. so today i finished it up, cleaned all the boxes as what not that was in the area as well, changed the sheets and my curtains are in the washing machine as we speak.

last night the BF slept over. he's allergic to mold as it turns out and was having trouble breathing when he slept in my bedroom, but we always thought it was the dogs. last night he slept over. i changed the sheets just for that night and he said he was much more comfortable already. and that although i was only half way done removing the mold. i went through a few bottles of bleech and damaged the wall a bit in a few places, but i dont care! the mold is gone!!

also i stopped taking the asthma medication i was given. the doc gave it to me, saying he wasnt sure if it's asthma and he wanted to see if the medication has an effect on me. it did indead, but i will stop taking it for a while to see if my respiratory problems return. if so, i can always still go back on the medication. otherwise i think it's safe to say the problem was with the mold...

anyways, i'm just so excited that it's done. i know it might return, but i doubt it. i am hanging my laundry in the living room now, so the bedroom is as dry as any other place in beijing, which is pretty dry. and my living room is much better ventilated and also bigger for that matter.

    no more wold! WOHOO!

now i'm going out to celebrate! cheers!

Oh, that's wonderful!!! Yes I'm sure it's a great feeling knowing that all of your hard work definitely paid off. Hopefully, you won't ever have to deal with it again!!

If you can run a dehumidifier in the areas where it's most troublesome,  you might be able to keep it from returning.  It seems to thrive on moisture, which is why it shows up so often in bathrooms.

beijing is generally pretty dry, so now that i found a (hopefully) better place to hang my laundry i'm hoping i wont need a dehumidifier...
