I Finally Got My Transfer Home!!! (mrstjohnson)

Yeah!!!  We are so excited!!  My comapny is finally opening the office in Detroit and I can go home no later than July of next year!!  Whoo Hoo!  I am soooo pumped.

We moved to Milwaukee three years ago for my new job with the promise/hope that they would be opening a Detroit office.  When the whole auto industry went south things were put on tentative hold/even possible permanent delay.  They have finally decided that next year this will be their top priority and by mid year we will be home!!!  That means no more renting and with the housing market so depressed there we should be able to get something in my parents neighborhood that we can actually afford now!!

I am on cloud 10,000 today!!!!  Drinks are on the house!!

Grats! The housing market is depressed for sure. But are you sure you are ready to come back to sub zero windchills and freezing rain? ;)

I live in Milwaukee now...trust me its warmer in Detroit Wink  Now if we were living in Palm Springs right now I would definitely wait until the summer!

No problem at all, anything to help out a fellow Wing Fan!  Actually DH is now thinking about turning in our Lion's tickets and getting Wings tickets instead!

Been reading some depessing things on the state of the Joe and ticket sales etc. Watched the game last night and there were many, many empty seats. I know it's the economy...but it was still sad to see.

Yeah, we went to a game a couple of weeks ago when we were home and I was surprised that even for a Saturday night it definitely wasn't full.  To be honest, the owner took advantage of the fact that they were the only good team in town and charged a lot of money for seats so that only companies could afford season tickets.

Now that a lot of company's are cutting costs, they lost a lot of season ticket holders.  They never used to offer ticket packs (9 - 12 games) and frankly who can afford $3000 per seat full season tickets.  If we do get them we will probably get a 20 or 15 game pack which is what we used to do for the Pistons.  The price of the Wings tickets are outrageous.  We had nose bleed seats (which are still good at the Joe) and they were $50 a piece.  For our Lion's tickets were are in the end zone and extremely close to the action, we only pay a little more than that.

Welcome Home!!!!! I am close to Detroit! We may become neighbors. GO WINGS!!!! (I think the bad play off years are keeping people home.) Jewlieee, WI and MN have been known for HARD winters. Sometimes I think the lakes save us. I went to MN in Feb a few years back the day I left MI was expecting lows in the single digits with bad wind chills. When we drove through WI a snow storm had hit the day before roads were not completely cleaned off yet. By MN it was ACTUAL temps 20 below. Wind chills were 40 below. Not fun to walk the dogs in let me tell you. Any way the weather said if it weren't for the wind it could have been colder! Give me MI any day!!!!!

Thanks!  We are looking on the north east side of the city which is where I grew up.  I totally haven't gotten anything done today, just looking at houses on line.

    Congrats!!!

A number of years ago DH & I went to Northern WI for Christmas (BIL lives there).  It was 50 below.  We sort of acclimated to the temps.  When we got to Chicago on our way home it was 20 degrees.  It felt like summer.
