Links opening in the same window.

Does everyone know that you can post links to open in a new window?  I only ask because I didn't realize it was so easy to do until a couple weeks ago.  Not everyone seems to be doing it.  I admit sometimes I forget, and the default is set to open in the same window, but it is really nice if a new window opens from a link.  I keep linking to things out of posts and getting 6 pages into a new site, then when I go to come back to post about the site, well, I have to open a new window to get back.  Or I have to hit the back button 7 times.  I know, I know, minor details, but, just thought I'd mention it incase people weren't doing it on purpose.

When you post a link, there is a drop down menu in that little window that says, Open link in same window, and when you drop it down, you get the option to open in in a new window.

I'm not sure about others, but in Safari if you hold control it opens them in a new window.

On a PC you can right-click the link and select "open in new window" but if everyone puts their links in to open automatically in a new window you can skip a step and just left-click on it normally :)

See, I never think of that when I click.  On the old forum it did it automatically didn't it?  I must have gotten the habit from somewhere.

in firefox you can middle click to force a link to open in a new tab. on my laptop (mac os x) ctrl+click (only one button) to get the context menu and choose open in a new tab.

edit: or hold the apple key and click to force a new tab.

You can also set your trackpad to recognize a two finger tap as your right click. :)
