IKEA!

I like the Schaumburg one best too.  It seems a tad bigger and less congested.  We're going to Chicago (well, Joliet) for 8 days next month and will hopefully be hitting up the Ikea!!

I just wanted to add in I love their meatballs too! When my husband and I go back home, we always stop into Ikea, JUST for lunch. But it's that good.

Their furniture isn't really my style....I like more a Traditional, heavy look to my furniture. We bought an endtable for the bed there...and it's held up well...but it was the VERY DEVIL to put together...and it's tiny!

If I ever bought anything sizeable there you can bet I'd be paying the extra fee to have it assembled!

The cafe was neat...and their kid stuff is cute...and the mirrors and wall decor sections are nice.

I like thier rugs..we have a couple of them.  I also like their accessories, very easy on the pocketbook.

I bought some towels from the Schaumburg, IL  one last year and you could tell they weren't the best quality but they were just hand towels so it worked for me.  My SIL bought her kitchen cabinets from there and they look really nice, but they had to put them together (like you would a desk).  I don't know about you, but that would make me nervous.

I love, love, love IKEA! The nearest one to us is over an hour away, but my friend and I have been planning a trip for a while! :)

By the way, I've had their meatballs, and loved them too! I forgot all about them until you just mentioned them!!

Oooo, I wanted to eat there so bad! We got some chocolates for the ride home :)

When BF assembled my desk, we had leftover pieces. Darn BF. I knew he wasn't reading the instructions.

I liked a lot of the accessories that they had. I might need to go back with my sister, she's a much better shopper than BF. It crossed my mind that I'd like to work in the childcare center there, but it is a pretty far drive and I'm sure it doesn't pay well.

I agree 100%.  I like a heavier, more traditional look in furniture too. And I figure if I have to pay someone to put whatever I'm buying together, I may as well go to a regular furniture store and buy it already assemled and have it delivered and put where I want it. The cafe at the IKEA near me has breakfast for $1.00 - scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes O"Brien. Their sandwiches and salads are pretty reasonable, too. I think it's just a fun place to wander around in, whether I'm buying anything or not. Smile

They just opened one in Portland.  It was MAYHEM the first week it was open!  you will not catch me anywhere near that place for at least a year! I hate crowds, malls, mega-shopping.

just got back from IKEA! bought that laptop platform thing with the cusion to put on your lap. it's AWESOME! even has some space for using the mouse, since i need to use it often for some 3D stuff i do. i love it.

also for some reason it's the only place i could find proper poop bags. lol.

I went last night and got a 6 pack of the cinnamon rolls for $4...mmmm. Let me know how the poop bags work out. They looked a little thin so I didn't try them.

the poop bags work for me. they are thin, but seem umm, tough. i prefer it to carrying either huge black bags or small see-through bags (eww! lol)
