    Angry at my mom vent...

So I will be staying with my parents for about two weeks around Christmas. I will be taking Lexi and Luna with me, for a number of reason. I am an adult and don't want my parents to have to worry about the girls while I am at the office in DC, so I have been trying to get my mother to give me the name of her dog walking person for about a month now. I have asked every few days, and she keeps forgetting to give it to me, or says she'll call right back and never does. So today, I finally get the number, and no surprise the woman is booked. Not her fault, good for her for having that much business.

So I had to turn to the only other place in the area I trust to take care of the girls while I am at work, and they charge $57 a day for Luna and Lexi. That's about $30 a day more than the first woman would have charged if I had her information earlier. I am so mad that my Mom is costing me the extra $$$, when I am trying to make my dogs as small an inconvenience as possible for her. (She loves dogs, but is not a "dog person" the way that I am.)

How hard is it for the woman to look up a number and call me back? I mean, I know that she has other things to do and is busy, but so is everyone else on the planet.

    Thanks for letting me vent...

Sorry - meant to put this in NDR. Mods feel free to move it!

Either she already figured the woman would be booked or was trying to find out IF she was before she gave you the number.  Altho you know your mother -- perhaps she is just colossally disorganized.

It's not unlike stuff my own mother has pulled (altho my Mom's favorite stunt is waiting until 2 weeks before Christmas and saying "uh ... don't come, it's not a good time."  Like after tickets are bought?  *sigh*

Sadly, she is just colossally disorganized and this is par for the course with her. I am usually good at letting this stuff slide off my back, but for some reason today it just hit a nerve.

I have a daughter who acts that way!  She still hasn't called her Grandmother like she said she would 3 wks. ago.  I guess the woman your mother uses didn't have anyone to refer you to that would be more reasonable?  If you didn't ask her, I would!  That's a lot of money.  I guess mom's Christmas gift just got smaller.  Oh, well, her loss!  Sorry things went crazy!  Hope you feel better getting it off your chest!  That's what were here for!

My mom's good, but MIL... well she's a different story.  She called the morning of Christmas to tell us they wouldn't be making it for dinner as the neighbor had invited them instead...

Sorry about your mom being an airhead.  I hope things work out for you!
