Upon reading more about the side effects I won't be getting one...I just can't risk the depression or hormonal mood swing issues that seem pretty common. Those 2 things in particular I have a high risk for, from my experiences on the pill so Now I need to consider something else. 

I never read that as a side effect.  I sure hope it ISN"T the case.  I thought the Mirena was supposed to have none or less than a pill since it does not go through your bloodstream.  It's not affecting the whole body, just the uterus.  I sure hope it's not the reason i woke up at 3am this morning with a splitting headache.  Hard to say for me as I battle neck and back issues constantly.

I guess I could never say that something is a cause of headaches for me because I've been getting headaches since I was a pre-teen. 

well yes headache's are also mentioned side effect....no idea if that's what's triggering yours. I am just very sensitive to hormones and have always done badly on pills of any type. My stuff is always mood related tho.

 I'll try to keep you updated then.    These last 5 months have been the first for me OFF of BC since 1993 except for a 3 month stint in '97.  So I have no real idea what my body does on a "normal" basis.  I'm hoping the Mirena will not affect any of that, but I will have no way to know.....
