    Mindless Chatter - Tues

Well, it's back to work for me today. It took me an hour to get through emails and through the people stopping at my desk to talk about the weekend. Now, it's time for idog! ;) I will get some work done today, I swear.

Dakota seems to be feeling better. I took both dogs on a walk in the snow last night. They love love love the snow. She's still not eating well though. Before she would demand food at feeding times, like she was starving. Now, I have been putting a tablespoon on wet Canidae on top of her dry Canidae and she is still only eating half of what I give her (about a tbsp of each). She used to lick her bowl clean then go looking for Neiko's food. Now she doesn't finish her bowl. So, I don't know what is up with that. I'm supposed to take her back in 2 weeks to have her blood levels checked again so we'll see about her kidneys at that time. I would think that her appetite would increase with the cold weather but who knows.

Neiko jumped about 10 ft in the air when the alarm went off this morning. I normally don't even set the alarm but because I changed my schedule and have to get up earlier, I turned it on this morning. That was the first time he heard it - too funny. He gave me this look like WTH was THAT!

when our dogs get picky with the kibble, we put the wet food under the kibble instead of on top. to my warped mind, they have to eat through the kibble to get to what they really want.... the wet food! i hope she gets her appetite back soon.

Dakota quit worrying your mommy! Well I am plugging along here at work. Busy, busy, busy. Went to agility class last night, oh my it did not start out well for me. It was chute, right turn/front cross jump, left turn, jump - I tripped over the first jump :-P sigh I did finally get it and the course grew with each round. It included front crosses, rear crosses and layering. Belle does not layer well. The first attempt I LITERALLY blocked the entrance to the tunnel telling her "out jump" she practically knocked me over getting into the tunnel! Our last round was PERFECT we got it together and ran a smooth run no errors. Driving was fun last night, the roads were not bad but you would not know it by the drivers. No one would go over 45 yet they insisted on driving in the fast lane WTF! Of course a few weeks from now when we do have ice and snow on the road they will be going 90.

Gosh, that sounds like when I tried agility. I had no idea that I was supposed to be agile, too. Embarrassed

Back to work for me too. I got back Sunday, but I had Monday off as well. It was nice to have a day to catch up on stuff around the house, get some running around done, and relax. Rupert was sooooooooooooooooo happy to see me when I got in. Of course I was happy to see him too. I missed my Rupey snuggles.

Dakota, be a good girl and eat your dinner tonight!

MaxsMom - that sound like a great class. I am falling over just thinking about it.

My boot came off today for good! Yay!!! So now it's Physical Therapy 2x.week for 2 hours at a time. I asked when I will be able to run again, and was told that first I have to be able to do heel raises -- so I think snowshoeing won't happen until 2008.

At least I can wear sneakers now! My foot wear is so hot, you don't even know...Stick out tongue

Well my granite is in and it was painless and WONDERFUL!  I even made salads on my new counter last night.  Today is a different story.  Got a plumber here bright and early and he just left.  He installed my kitchen sink and everything and then went to switch out a faucet in the bathroom which turned into a nightmare b/c a bolt was overtightened and he couldn't get it off.  Not sure how he finally did it but 2 hours later and it is done and I no longer have a leaking  or outdated faucet in there.

The tile guys just started in the kitchen and it is a loud dusty mess.  Oh my....I hope they get all that tile out fast and without hurting my new countertops.  Confused  I will be so glad when it is all done and I can start cleaning and putting my Christmas tree up...and best of all, stop spending money!

Don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen. Embarrassed Unfortunately, every thing you manage to get finished only points to five other things that also need to be done.

Boyfriend installed two new windows in the living room this weekend..... started out as needing to paint since we have new couches coming.  A few trips to Home Depot later and now we have new windows that look great!  He's feeling so good about them that he's measured out the bedroom windows, so I suspect we'll have another project for next weekend.

Today I need to register Gracie with the town and probably get my car registration swapped over, too.  It's so nice to have my own time to do anything I want.  But I really should get that resume spiffed up in order to start applying for jobs.  *sigh*....it's been nice to take a rest, but I feel like a slug not working.

Well, around here nothing has to get finished, or even started for that matter, before I find something else to be done.  Although there are still things to do, I will be happy to stop spending money on "this" project and everything that hsas spiraled off of it.  I am sure something else will go out like the hot water heater or something else....that is about the only appliance left that hasn't been replaced since we bought the house so it wouldn't be shocking.

I am amazed at how fast these tile people are working.  They have been here for 3 1 /2 hours and have already removed the old tile and are starting to put in the new floors.  They are almost done setting the backsplash which looks so good!

Here is a sneak peak....can you tell I am excited?!  hahaha

Very pretty!!!  and it's clear that you are excited- we can see your reflection in the appliance next to the counters.  That looks like quite a happy grin!! LOL!!!

Oooh!  I love those backsplash tiles.  They look very similar in color to the slates I just had put on the front porch ... which was a spin-off of having a new driveway and front walk poured - which was a spin-off of having the lawn dug up and sprinklers installed. Smile See how this works?  Mr. "Yard Fix-up Dude" is going to be able to spend a month in another country - thanks to me.

This is day 2 of my hell week.  I woke up this morning with a cough.  I think I got a hairball in my gizzard!  Sleeping with dogs, that might do it!  Madison is acting out a bit more today but she not nearly as bad as she could be.  I am worried.  I cannot find my sister.  She's not answering her cell phone and the voice mail is full.  I learned yesterday that she sent some guy to buy her a BUNCH of pills and he got arrested with 30 felony charges.  I don't know where Jennifer could be.  My friend works at the jail so I'd know if she were there!  Her ex hubby can't find her either.  I talked to her the other day and she said that the guy she is living with tried to hit her because she told him she was leaving him.  He told her that "he was not going to let her leave"  I don't know what to do.  What if she got hurt or worse?  Am I just freaking out here?  I talked to her 2 days ago.  Should I try to find her?  Help...

    • Gold Top Dog

huh. I would be worried too. Especially if her VM is full and she's not answering her phone. Where would you begin to look?

    • Gold Top Dog

I think I'd ask my friend at the jail to see if she could get a couple of officers to go check on her. If drugs and violence are part of the problem I'm sure somebody would be willing to go take  "look see" just to put your mind to rest.

Well, I finally found her.  She was supposedly at work.  I don't buy that but she is o. k.  She acted like she got mad at me for trying to find her.  I don't know what to do about that girl.  Drugs rule her life.  I am worried that someone is gonna find her dead in a ditch somewhere.  There is nothing I can do to help her.  I have tried just to have her blow up in my face.  She's 24 years old.  I guess she is old enough to lead the kind of life that she wants.
