I love the Daily Show / Colbert Report interviews!!!! Sometimes you get a real insight into the "true selves" of the people interviewed - it may be slightly unfair, but you really get to see whether or not they can think on their feet. Gotta love the people who seem not to realize that it's a comedy show, lol! And then there are other people who do a great job. I watched a rerun of Stewart's interview with Vicente Fox this morning, very fun! I love the shows because they sort of "think outside of the box" (unlike that phrase, lol). It's like critical thinking news reporting. In general I HATE TV news... during the worst of the CA fires, I was watching an interview:
Interviewer: "Ma'am, you just watched your home burn down and you lost all of your possessions, is that true?"
Sobbing woman: ":::sniffle::: Yes."
Interviewer: "Are you upset?"
???????
Not to mention the sensationalist trailers... "Could something in YOUR carpet be KILLING YOUR CHILDREN? Find out tonight at 9!"
IMO, television (like any other drama/media) is nothing without good writers, so if the writers want a bigger cut then too freaking bad for everyone else. Without the writers, they wouldn't be getting anything!
