    enrichment for Bored Buster

I have a 5 yr. old Shih-Tzu,Lhasa mix. We live in a condo on the beach in Florida. We've been noticing that he seems very bored lately and I'm looking for some enrichment excersizes to do with him. When we do play with him, his main goal is to destroy the squeaker toys we're playing with. He will only play with toys that have squeakers. I need some fresh ideas and to learn how to bridge him before and at the end of a play session. I'm also not sure how long the sessions should be. Buster is very smart and alert. I'd like to keep him that way. He really doesn't have any behavior issues, either. But I'm afraid that he may develope some if I let him continue to be bored. Any suugestions ? Thanks!

Clicker training. Stimulate his little mind! Feed his meals out of your hand, with a clicker in the other hand, instead of in a boring bowl. Every meal is an exciting new game!

You could play hide and seek with him. Start out by placing the toy within view, then encourage him to "find it!" Once he gets the hang of it, you can put the toy in a different room.
