    almost forgot my Molly update

vet called me shortly after I got home from work to go over Friday's appointment. I did mention diabetes to him and he said they ruled that out due to her urine glucose levels from the other day's first-pee of the day. But if her kidney function is fine Friday they will do a full blood panel to rule out stuff there.
She only has to go w/out water for 16 hours (makes me feel somewhat better - the thought of dehydrating her on purpose leaves me shaken). He did say it's risky, hates doing it but it's the way to run the test. They will let her drink a little at a time after the test. She'll lose aprox. 5 pounds in fluids over the course of 16 hours!!! I can't help but think what poor dogs left outside in hot hot weather, without water, must go through.
If all tests come out fine they'll treat her spay incontinence with a shot. otherwise we'll have to consider it behaviorial. And I'm still wondering about that due to my own in-home testing.
I can't help but wonder if some of it is separation anxiety except her leaking is mostly during the night when she's sleeping - which raises another question for me. Can dogs suffer from what kids do when they sleep soundly? I was given the word today -forgot it - begins with an "e"
She was dry all day yesterday but my son was home. She was wet when I came home at lunch but no one was home. I can't help but wonder if it's the sleep thing...she sleeps when no one is home yet when someone is home she has someone to hang out with.
So many questions...and I hate to put her through these tests if that's all it is.

Oh, Mary, I feel so bad for both of you. I hate her going though  this no water thing. That's so many hours. Try to  hang in there and hopefully something easy will show up.

The E word you are looking for is "enuresis". I am sorry that you and Molly are having trouble and I hope the cause if found soon.
