TV: Paging Dr. House?

I like this show a lot.  It seems very cerebral to me.  You've got this brilliant guy who is dealing with an addiction, a severe personality, very little in the way of social skills and he's trying to maintain a small team of equally talented but not as socially inept professionals.  I think it smacks of reality.

Ohhh, I love House! It felt like I waited forever for season 3 to come out on dvd so I could still watch it while on maternity leave lol.

Love the show House...I'm not a fan of hospital shows but we don't miss an episode....

Also crazy about the show Pushing Daisies.....

We cut our cable about 6 yrs ago and only get a few free channels...

I'm ever so happy that I can watch House....and Pushing Daisies...

We've found that if you've got a nice highspeed internet connection and a big screen laptop (ours is 17 inches--bordering on the ridiculous) it's totally unnecessary to have cable. We can watch anything we want online.

Glad to hear about all the House Lovers! At dinner last night my husband's cousin and his wife started enthusing about it, and me and our cousin's wife had a nice little girl-to-girl giggle session about Hugh Laurie. She's been a fan of his since way before House, and while I can't say I was a fan before House, I did know who he was and I did like him. Love Jeeves and Wooster and I just about had a heart attack when I realized he was making a few guest appearances in MI:5 (Spooks).

Only one more episode left until the writer's strike catches up with us though.

A bit off-topic -- Cressida, when will he be on MI:5, and where do you watch it?  I discovered old episodes on the A&E network a couple years ago and loved it, but haven't been able to track it down in a long time.  What network airs it now?  To see Hugh Laurie on some episodes would be great!

Also, I absolutely LOVE "Pushing Daisies!"  It's so clever, the characters are all quirky and engaging, the writing is great, and I love the whole "look" of it -- so saturated with color.  It reminds me of a Tim Burton movie or a Dr. Seuss cartoon.

Yes, the writer's strike is going to put me in withdrawl for 3 or 4 shows that I'm addicted to!

We started watching MI:5 through Netflix (their "watch it now" service actually--the first two seasons are available that way but after you watch those you have to Netflix them the old fashioned way). Hugh Laurie appears in two episodes during season 1, "The Rose Bed Memoirs" and "Traitor's Gate". Don't know if you're a Buffy fan, but "Traitor's Gate" also guest stars Anthony Stewart Head (who played Giles on Buffy). So yeah, I basically had to change my pants after watching that one. You might be able to watch on the internet though with a page like surfthechannel.com . Just keep in mind that the name of the show in the UK is Spooks, not MI:5.

    That created an image, alright.

I liked him in Buffy. And the show was way better than the movie. I remember him from the Taster's Choice coffee ads that were produced like a serial. They would show one segment of the commercial for a while, then show the next. So, you had to keep track of the commercial to follow the story line, about a couple making lovey eyes over coffee and having a very urbane and sophisticated courtship.

Also, I want to say that he (Anthony Head) was on a soap opera for a while and I could swear it was Generations, popular in 89 and 90.
